| Gerrem Onside! - Super League/NRL 2026 thread 21:10 - Feb 12 with 31875 views | MrSheen | Super League starts tonight in shocking conditions but the 4G spoils the fun, NRL just weeks away. York holding their own for the moment , I used to coach Union with a York fanatic, I hope they can hold their own this season.

| Gerrem Onside! - Super League/NRL 2026 thread on 16:22 - Aug 14 by MrSheen | I just watched yesterday’s Penrith - Roosters game. What an epic, worthy of the Grand Final. If Hull can get DCE on that form, what an opportunity for the club. |
He may be 37 but if he can still perform to a high level, as evidenced yesterday for the Roosters in a high quality game against Penrith, then he'll certainly raise the standards at FC. Just hope that the London Broncos are permitted into Super League, not a given, so that I can see him play at Plough Lane.

Mate, I'm Hull's best player as it stands. He could play for our current team when he's 50. Can't wait for us to send him out behind a back containing Brad Fash and Yusuf Aydin. I hear he's only missed nine games injured in 16 years? Watch what Hull do with that...

He is incredible. I’ve got a Manly signed shirt from 2011’s Championship side with him on it.

Not quite booked my trip to Sydney but that was a smashing of last years winners, & beat Panthers as well. Metcalf such a shame but we’ve had two years of it. - hopefully Martin back in fortnight. Pleased DCE off to UK as he grinds my gears! You get great player & second ref all in one

Really hope you guys win it. If you can get 2nd and reckon you will, no reason why you can't make Sydney. Fortunately you'll have Manly last game in Auckland which I"m taking the family to (lucky lot) so a guaranteed couple of points on current form.

I'm not convinced by south Sydney this year. Easy win for the Warriors. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

If you were wondering what happened to John Bateman… https://www.nrl.com/news/2026/ Sad end for Craig Bellamy last night, just ran out of good players there. Strange that private equity decided to buy them of all the teams just as they might be entering the wilderness. [Post edited 21 Aug 10:12]

One round to go & Warriors on top by 1pt differential. Nice scenes at Go Media with Cleary family over to see their youngest make his debut at halfback - did well & likely keep his place in final game v Manly. Dolphins great win over Roosters result of the round

On flight back from the game. Great experience bar one idiot a couple of rows behind and proud of how Manly got back into that in spite of Sutton and the bunker (especially in the first half.) Shame about Turbos brainfart though for thst 12 point turnover.:4 one point defeats though tells it own story and with a little more forward depth we should be solid finals challengers next year. If this years Cowboys can make it anyone can. Id have a few concerns defensively for the Wahs, especially against the Dolphins and that backline. Newcastle and us have certainly exploited the edges over the last couple of weeks. Wouldn't mind either of Dolphins or Wahs winning.

Sold out Eden Park so 50,000 attending and on past few games would back Knights - hoping for much better from them though - last 20mins were like running in treacle. Roosters should beat Sharks and then all on to see who can knock bloody Panthers over…

I’ve got a soft spot for both sides but I wonder how much last week took out of the Wahs. Like last year’s Dogs, they can club most teams senseless over 80 minutes but can’t find the stiletto to stick between the ribs. It’s great to see them getting the public excited there after underperforming for so long, there’s a flood of talent to look forward to if they can keep it up.

I’m pleased for my Roosters, but the Dolphins have been fantastic to watch this year. If Mayo can do it, can Warrington…? I have to say, they weren’t great tonight.

Thank you Mr Sheen. I would have been confident of Wakefield beating Leeds or Warrington, but I can't see anything apart from a comfortable Wigan victory this evening. Hopefully Trinity will continue to improve year by year (as did HKR) & have a chance to win it over the next 2 years.

Fabulous by Trinity tonight, if they can play like that next week they should blow Warrington away. I’m delighted for Mike McMeekin and Jay Pitts, who played their nuts off for some outmatched London sides in their time.

Also people like Pitts, Trueman, Scott who looked mostly dreadful at Hull now doing this - shows the difference between a well run club and cleverly managed team, and the opposite.

Wow. I got that wrong! I'm not sure whether I'm in shock or awe at the Wakefield performance today. The only period they didn't outplay Wigan was the ten minutes they were down to 12. Most of you that read this thread understand & know far more about RL than me, but I thought that the confidence that Walmsley, Jowitt & Johnstone showed in dealing with the return of all of the kicks laid a foundation. All of them made good ground as well, before the forwards ate up yards. To my amateur eye, I also thought Trueman was outstanding. I will miss next weeks final as I will be in Santorini (away on holiday during the international break), but I'm so pleased I witnessed today's win.
