Is it time to give Jimmy a rest ??? 22:48 - Feb 24 with 1373 viewsnumptydumpty

We have Edwards, Cook and JCS all fit, we are told with a supposed top younger player waiting on the sidelines in Tylon Smith. Mbuenge at right back, who can also play centre back.

Do we think Jimmy needs a rest and Cook gets the captaincy on the pitch when Jimmy is not around.

We seem to rest certain players always when there are three game weeks but such has been the impact , the overplayed Madsen and Burrell always playing and nearly always 90 minutes too, Dunne also always plays and rarely gets subbed.

i would rest him on Saturday.

if we were following the model of loading, then would happen surely.

I'd be reluctant to drop JD, I'd say that's the last thing the bloke needs.

He's having a bit of a wonky time but he'll come through It.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

There are reasons why we are conceding so many goals and one of those reasons is Dunne

He'd be back out there within 30 mins after JCS "felt something" that puts him out for the rest of the season.

Maybe starting to show signs of fatigue .
Very poor tonight and against Blackburn.
Understandable to a degree .
Also noticed that at Hull and at Oxford recently he went down and got up wincing in pain holding and clutching ‘that shoulder’.
I think he’s played with that injury all season . Wouldn’t be surprised to see him have an op in the summer, especially if Ireland don’t make the World Cup or he isn’t included in the squad .

I hadn't realised but RND can't play at the weekend so I don't think you can leave out Dunne as well

Is there some clause in his loan deal that says this.

Yes, he didn't play in the away game either, Sam Field started at left back

The only time we give Jimmy a rest is when he can't make the shot without keeping one foot on the ground.

Although knowing our luck, he'll pull his hammy when trying the shot in the first place.

I've got the Power.

Never give Jimmy a rest. Jimmy doesn’t need a rest. Jimmys like a 1970’s centre back, he even looks like a 1970’s centre back. Jimmy knows a dislocated shoulder just needs a little rub. Jimmy just wants to play football. All the time. Non stop. Even in his sleep.

Leave Jimmy alone.

Considering all our injuries and the fact Esquerdinha has looked very vulnerable defensively would it not be worth going to three at the back with wing backs. We have two centre halves who can play out from the back and it could make us more solid defensively, that said I can't see Stephan changing his formation, if he sticks with a back four then we need an extra midfield player.

Had the same thought myself. It's just a question of who plays as WB's . Mbengue on the right but who on the left? Smyth perhaps if he's fit?

From what I've seen of Esquerdinha I actually think wing back is currently his strongest position so we could start with him in that position, he's quick and could cause the opposition some problems.
