He’s one from my correspondence course He articulates just about everything as I see it He’s laid out on simple terms where we have gone wrong and how we might improve Frankly, at the risk of repeating myself, again, the legacy of Martin is proving hard to kill off It’s like a broken sewer I want us to have a real goal , from the off, take charge , move the biggest around and keep their fans quiet Most of all , a goal for Widdell and / or Galbraith No faff , Vig takes charge ,full backs clear danger

We had no cover and were played through often, disappointing and as has been said reminiscent of previous managers play and after the first goal it seemed we felt we needed to throw caution to the wind but got caught again, it we had been successfully with the disallowed goal things might have changed but. Does seem the pressure to play attacking and introduce the new players led Matos down the same rabbit hole that Sheehan went, a number of bad games but now strong enough team with the experience gained under Matos to recover points. Let's hope we can see a return to looking a stronger unit for the whole 90 minutes, Matos and Sheehan good form stemmed from a good defensive play which cut out the errors deep in our half.

We always give wide players too much time and space , we never mark wingers tightly ,our fullbacks are never within 10-15 yards of them and only move towards them when they already have the ball, then they go past our fullbacks as if they’re not there ,that’s why opponents get so many crosses into our box , time and again,I’m in the East stand and when opposition centre backs are looking to get the ball forward we more or less encourage them to pass to the wings by giving so much space and yet our wingers are always marked properly which is why we don’t get as many crosses in It’s not rocket science science,if you mark tightly that player won’t get the ball and put us under pressure We also struggle at closing down the midfield and tracking back

Spot on It’s been like this for a long time Is it tactics or simply our full backs are woeful defenders Every team now this weakness and plays on it Wing men are almost guaranteed carte blanche When balls come on , we then make mistakes I’d suggest it’s not too difficult to solve It’s what disappoints me with Matos this far This will be a very tough physical game and we should plan accordingly

Wouldn't say that has been the case under Matos up until a number of games ago, Galbraith and Tymon made sure they were tight to the wingers even having inception which allowed us to play on rhe front foot, teams are getting wiser to our style of play under Matos and have stymied us leading to us having to play slightly differently. Teams often try a pressing game but if they are being played through then they hold off letting the goalie have the ball and providing their defensive unit is up to it, the game then becomes a midfield battle which we lost against Ipswich, played through, players dragged out of position when no cover in place. Home game with the hope of lessons learnt. [Post edited 5 Mar 23:13]

A huge number of those wearing their two team scarves won’t be back. Surprises me that both Cardiff and Swansea are playing at home on the same day. Very rare. Especially between train stations either way. Stoke, Cardiff, Swansea and Lincoln all converging on south Wales will keep the cops busy.

Possibly playing Ronald as extra cover for Key in his first start back.

Perm any 2 from 3, if the ref made the decision earlier foul he wouldn't of have to rely on the assist ref making a decision over their disallowed goal, ref making life hard for himself.

Almost better than having a ticket to the match, because the camera angle moves to the best spot in the house at every particular time. 2nd match of ours they've shown this season. First was Wrexham.

Then he did that!!😳. Absolutely brilliant. I’m also absolutely delighted for Key who I thought had a brilliant game and given his forward foraging role even better than before his dip in confidence. Bravo!!

I can’t agree about Eom. Nor very much with you on Tonald today, he was a lot better than in previous games. Burgess did play very well. I think most did well today, no duff appearances, some better than others as ever. But I’d like to have seen us go at them in the second half straight from KO rather than patient build up which was frustrating. I really thought that we were going to huff and puff and not get a goal but thankfully we did. Also at 1-0 I think Stoke could always have got a goal back. They very nearly did.

He's going to hate his usual targets no matter what. You can't reason with an intellect that limited. Might as well ask a dog why it prefers one ball to another. You're not going to get an answer that makes sense either way. First 15-20 minutes or so we were well on top and playing some nice interchange attacking football, Key and Eom both showing good stuff there. Then we stopped doing it. Stoke forced our midfield back and started dominating until Sorba Thomas went loopy. After that we were mostly the better side, although I maintain we could fix a lot of our attacking woes by getting the midfield right. We spent too much time going from side to side because we didn't have anyone able to split a packed defence. Not one of Galbraith, Franco or Stamenic is an attacking midfielder. All are good at what they do, but we can't be asking Stamenic to dictate our play for example when he's so slow on the ball. Galbraith should be sitting deeper, with Widell at the top until Walta is up to speed. Perm any one from Franco or Yalcouye to be the dog. Cullen put in the most Cullen sub performance he has all season. Ballsing up a break where he had three wide open passing options yet somehow ended up falling over, and finding the back of the net with a chance that wasn't on. As a fanbase we should probably stop pretending that he's anywhere near good enough to be starting games, but if we're desperate he does have a knack of finding the net off the bench. | Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

| Swansea City v Stoke City : Match day thread on 17:46 - Mar 7 with 1555 views | swansjack84 | Anyone complaining today needs a day off. We was brilliant for first 15 minutes. Stoke started to press and they was lucky to keep a few players on, foul on Franco towards end of game, few others early on. A penalty should of been given to us for foul on Galbraith. The ref knew he had made wrong decision on the initial foul from Sorba. And clearly the ref and all lost there heads and realised they would of been a lot of backlash if they aloud there goal to stand. We have struggled alot to break down teams who sit back and irrelevant of them being 10 men we played well. Sometimes it can be more difficult to break down teams when they sit back. With an experienced manager and few tweeks we did well to counter. Key was brilliant today, give him props and Tymon. Enjoy the win. [Post edited 7 Mar 17:48]

| Swansea City v Stoke City : Match day thread on 18:07 - Mar 7 with 1463 views | RichardO | That playing from side to side was frustrating but Stoke employed five players to protect the middle of the park, those five also press forward quickly when we lost the ball in the midfield, they did sit and wait Nunes made the mistake, the break or ball over the top was on for us but we didn't need to take risks, the openings would come, they did and eventually we took advantaged. All very nervy but for the most part the ball wasn't lost in dangerous areas. Midfield is not quite right Galbraith waiting high up the pitch he should be on the ball at every opportunity and I think Stamenic would prove a bigger nuisance further up the pitch. A win is a win and happy to take it. How Thomas got away with the second bookable offence is understandable but his third challenge was typical of some of the Stoke play witnessed. | | | |
