| Richard Kone 21:24 - Mar 8 with 1034 views | 1JD | Getting a free ride this season. Hold up play is sometimes good, but mostly sh1t. Slow as a slug. Half arsed jumps for headers. A rather measly 7 goals in 34 games (1 goal every 4.8 games). Charlie Kelman 5 goals in 26 (1 goal in 5.2 games). No better than Dykes. Who himself was piss poor, but still scored 12 in his first season. | | | | |
| Richard Kone on 21:34 - Mar 8 with 950 views | rbee | Missing all those chances created for him. Winning headers in the top two thirds of the pitch has been an issue all season. | | | |
| Richard Kone on 21:37 - Mar 8 with 879 views | Wegerles_Stairs | Nah, he'd have got a couple of goals if he were playing for Boro today. I really like Kone - we're not playing to his strengths by booting the ball up to the halfway line for him to try and win. Warnock would get him 20+ goals a season. | | | |

Some good performances. But regularly turns in poor performances. Today being one example of many. It’s an all too often occurrence. Poor touch, and loses the ball with alarming regularity. Not the answer as a hold up striker.

Agreed. Harsh to be writing him off at this stage. Still a young player and next season will tell us more. Definitely needs more goals but given what's around him I think he has earned another season to show what he can do.

Not writing him off. Just calling a spade a spade. He’s been poor in far too many games this season. Potential is there, but his touch and hold up play is poor. Lots of work to do if he is to make it as a hold up striker.

| Richard Kone on 21:50 - Mar 8 with 775 views | rbee | Kone has shown that he can be a decent finisher but we are not creating the chances for him. Not sure why you are comparing him to Lyndon who missed some wonderful chances during his time here, Richard hasn't even had the opportunities to do that. [Post edited 8 Mar 21:52]

Comparing him to Dykes not only on goals scored. Dykes scored 12 in his first season. But more specifically, his hold up game is no better than Dykes. Both fits and spurts. Sometimes good, oftentimes bad. He’s no better at hold up than Dykes, who wasn’t very good at it. Genuinely shocked if some fans can’t see how often Kone gives the ball away.
| Richard Kone on 22:05 - Mar 8 with 657 views | Watford_Ranger | Possibly the last player of all I’d be digging out. Works hard for lost causes with no service while carrying an injury various others in the squad would be out for months with in his first season at this level. He’s one of the few positives of the season, imperfect as he is. | | | |
| Richard Kone on 22:09 - Mar 8 with 623 views | essextaxiboy | He is young but I am still to be convinced . For me he isn’t athletic enough , not quick over the first few yards , maybe the socks half down and the way he runs but he always looks overweight and unfit … to me anyway , He gives static defenders a tough battle but quick sharp centre backs contain him pretty easily . Some tidy finishes this season to his credit . | | | |
| Richard Kone on 22:11 - Mar 8 with 602 views | wombat | A better coach gets more out of him Maybe wingers who put a decent ball into the box not just once every few games , having somebody play in the same half as him to allow for layoffs . Hes the least of our worries in this squad | |

Nothing to do with service. How about being able to retain the ball more often than not? Might be useful to this side you know. Given we toss it away for fun, and Kone is a significant part of that problem. [Post edited 8 Mar 22:26]

He's probably been a knock away from a major injury or ACL for about 3 weeks now and we keep putting him in. It's ludicrous. He's 22. The service to him is either launched from 60 yards away or no existent.

Not saying that he doesn't give the ball away sometimes but as the lone striker he often has two or three defenders on him and often no quick lay off opportunities.
