He kept Darling out of the centrehalf position on the left side, his down fall for me was his unforgiveable error was actually against Southhampton Sheenhan's last game in charge or you could say William's first, Southampton had run us ragged in the first half but at 1-0 we were still in the game until Woods stupid backpass to Rushworth's few mistakes, it took the game away from us and gave Martin a platform to take Southampton up instead of honouring his contract and stay and prove he was as good a coach as he thought he was. Ultimately he proved he could take a team of a standard up but couldn't develop them to a higher standard to keep them in the premier league, which seemed to be the case with us unable improve our squad by good coaching.
Wood was a good player when he came to us and was when he left had he improved maybe but you would expect any young player with a good head to strive to prove himself | | | |

Yes I take your point . My feeling is the best form of defence is attack . We are going to concede a goal in this game perhaps 2 maybe 3 anyway . I would rather us take the attitude of ok you score one we score one.Get the ball forward quickly Nunes and Ronald out wide .
If you attack at speed they will be less keen to flood forward themselves as it will leave gaps . One thing is for sure we cant play the slow tippy tappy build up play against these

True about less possession . The problem then is when we have it we have a lone striker up front running around lacking support and more easily snuffed out - result the ball comes straight back at us. I would like to see Idah playing as a link man , a bit deeper than Vipotnik so he can run at them and lay the ball off to a moving Vipotnik also drawing fouls in good field positions to get shots /headers on goal. It would get the home crowd up and the noise level would be like an extra man .
It would give them far more to think about , lots of movement up front and it would make the most of Vipotnik's talents. I feel at times we are only getting and seeing half of what he is really capable of.
We will have to start fast against these or we will get blown away early doors and I would rather see us going out on our shields than laying down meekly. | | | |
