There once was a lovely little ditty that the young men on the terraces, once upon a time, used to sing.

We can't really sing this with gusto any more.
I actually bought this black shirt this season as don't really like the first choice strip and lilac is not exactly my colour. Unfortunately I bought the size lower than I am currently with the incentive of losing a little excess belly fat, so my outings in this particular strip are currently delayed. The idea was to motivate me to stop eating chocolate and jammy dodgers - its failing so far.
Great strip though. Think the sponsor must have known in advance. And the club said to them, people would highlight this online, so they could get clicks simply from these people sharing the fact its not visible. I have a feeling in years to come it will become an iconic kit, particularly if we perform in it, in the way we did at Portsmouth. [Post edited 18 Aug 17:35]

After today's result I think it's clear we need to wear this kit every away game there's a clash, the lilac monstrosity can stay at Heston. |
I really hope this is worn for most of the away games. Obviously it will clash with Millwall's kit as both are dark, but other than that game, the black kit please.

Maybe this is a bit of Marketing ploy by the Sponsors.
The Sponsors aren't visible on the black kit, so what happens, everyone's talking about the sponsors not being visible on the black kit!
It's created more of a talking point than it woud've done had it been clearly seen in flashing neon lights!!

Trying to think of matches where the Lilac will be used - struggling. This is all I could come up with
Burnley
Wolves
West Ham
Watford?
Maybe the teams who play all in red and given we used black when playing blue clubs am excluding those as well.
Doesn't seem like a well thought out 2nd kit again. I really struggled with the pink and black when we played Stoke/Sheff Utd etc last season. [Post edited 20 Aug 13:39]

Wouldn't we just be wearing our "home" kit for these fixtures? There's no colour clash to warant a kit change. | | | |
