I think Yates was chosen because it was on the main route from the train station, and it was over the other side of the road from the pubs used by home fans, maybe one of other pubs nearby will be used (Witherspoon's could always take it over!!) |  | | |

There were quite a few Millwall in the Scholars Arms last Saturday.

Yep, proper Saints pub. What is happening to this country? Pubs closing down, even when they must have hundreds or thousands of fans buying drinks.on a match day. Successive governments have ruined this country with business rates and energy costs. When the people of this country can't go to the pub anymore, it will be very bad. Very sad. Has it also got to do with a change in the drinking culture of the UK? When I was in my younger days, Friday was always straight to the pub after work and where I’d meet my mates, no texts no calls, I knew they’d be there.
Young people now don’t have to meet their mates down the pub to be connected, there’s a whole range of ways to connect. They also aren’t as interested in drinking as we were back in the day. They are all about keeping fit, both physically and mentally, certainly far more than I was back in the day. | | | |

I decided to pop into the Kingsland, what a dump, it’s always been a dump but now it’s a different level dump, I ordered a beer had 2 sips snd left the rest, it was un drinkable, every time I think about that pint my stomach turns. | |
