| Booze Runs to England on 11:37 - Oct 6 by Joesus_Of_Narbereth | He went by the name ‘Ron’ during his broadcasting career and was always known as Ron by his friends and family for many many years. And Jones is his legal name whether he likes it or not. It really comes to something when the name Jones isn’t Welsh enough for him. People often criticise Yaxley Lennon for using a pseudonym that sounds more British and working class, fake names should be called out across the board if that’s the case. |
He was never really known as Ron apart from by a few colleagues, like a bit of a nickname. All he's done is drop the Jones from Ap Iorwerth-Jones. So Rhun Ap Iorwerth exists, Tommy Robinson doesn't.

You could say Jones is not Welsh enough because it's an English construct as they didnt understand the Welsh naming system. The surname Jones evolved from the first name John through a patronymic naming system.

Is your christian name Scotia ? The dullest better than you Welshman must be Ffred Fransis or better known as Frederick Sefton Francis , another who makes up names who thinks he'll fit in better with the Welsh breiniol.

Its basic disrespect of a Welshman. I do not accept such disrespect. English people do not respect Welsh names and refuse to use them. There are very few Welsh words in England despite it being Welsh before the Saxon arrived. A few places near the border. Welsh names were expunged and still are with the "Rod" nonsense. It is a basic gesture no respect. Devolved leaders get special treatment.

Total nonsense and a complete failure to understand history. Nothing in England was Welsh, it was Celtic. There are still plentynof place names in England with Celtic links, try Avon, Derwent, Exe, Frome, Lune, Tees, Darent and Stour. Penrith, Pendle and Coombe. Or maybe places you have heard of, London, Leeds, York, Carlisle, Dover, Kent and Canterbury. There are many hybrid names such as Doncaster and Lichfield. Manchester, Exeter, Leicester or Gloucester. The fact you think these place names are only English displays your ignorance of the history. There are Celtic names across Europe, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
| Booze Runs to England on 15:56 - Oct 10 with 849 views | Gwyn737 | It’s not necessarily uncommon to change or play with your name to make it more palatable to your intended audience. I give you Olukemi Olufunto Adegoke Badenoch or Muhammad Ziauddin Yusuf. I’m not sure it really matters. (Although Yaxley-Lennon to Robinson is a bit of a stretch) | | | |

Total myth that England was Wales before the Anglo saxons arrived. There was no such countries as Wales , England and Scotland. It was the Romans they called the area as Britania. It consisted of tribes large and small across the whole of the UK. They all spoke different languages some were similar but even in Wales there were 5 different areas defined by recent DNA analysis. Some of these tribes were as different from each other DNA speaking. When the Romans left the tribes in the UK gradually merged to form small countries like Wessex, Mercia etc. The people on North, South and Mid Wales were pretty much the same. When the Vikings, Saxons etc invaded the local population stayed where they were. They did not flee in panic to populate Wales. Even by 1066 the population of Wales was estimated at 150,000 and England was 2,000,000.
