There's been talk of redeveloping the Den for years and this plan isn't new. The Den was designed with expansion in mind. They had an issue with Lewisham Council over a compulsory purchase order of land, which I think was linked to the wider regeneration that's happened in the surrounding area.
The main thing stalling their plans now, as I understand, is investment from the owners. Can't compare their situation to ours, they moved at the right time. Similar to Loftus Road, the old Den had few options for expansion.
Whatever they do they'll always be limited by their fan's lack of ambition. Being sh*t and the under dog is essential to their identity.
