The Tonda Effect 00:13 - Nov 1 with 1147 viewsSouthamptonfan

Tonda Eckert took charge of Southampton whilst the club were 21st after 13 games on 12 points, and went on to finish just 4 points off the automatic promotion places. We are now 5th on 23 points after 13 games… Tonda has the best points per game record in all 4 divisions.

We score 3, 4, 5 goals in most games. We attack, it's exciting. The players are playing like troopers in every game. I know we haven't seen a Tonda Eckert Saints side in the PL, but Tonda is something else. What a manager. The spying saga just adds to the story. I am really loving this guy.

What a story this will be if he takes us back to the big time and lifts the title with minus 4 and everything that's happened.

Completely agree with you SF, although I think the fans should also be shouting Dragans name from the roof tops, he held firm and kept faith with Tonda when it would have been easier to sack him. Praise be to Tonda but also to Dragan.

Just checked and realised that it's a year tomorrow that we sacked Will Still the day after a defeat and wretched performance at home to Preston

Quite the turnaround and rollercoaster the last year has been

Fail we may, sail we must

There is a profound feeling of relief that the general malaise has lifted surrounding everything that Sport Republic were doing . All the shockingly bad appointments and decisions made have mostly been forgotten about.
The end season shenanigans have been the only downside to the last 12 months.
The fans have been very patient and loyal and are being rewarded by good performances and results.
I agree, this is down to good management and coaching, the Tonda Effect.

Tonda has made a significant difference, he is tactically aware and prepared to change the team when necessary to suit the opponent.

He also seems to be a great man manager, don’t seem to be many players sulking at not getting in starting team, looks like all are buying into it being a squad set up with each of them playing their part in teams performances

Also our recruitment if much better now, less rubbish players coming in.

I think he's an extraordinary manager.

I hope we can keep him for a while and he can guide us back to PL competitiveness.

And whether with Saints or someone else he is heading to the very top.
