I'm no lover of Millwall but if Steve Morison had actually lobbed Smithies from 45 yards out right by the touchline last night I'd have had to applaud. What a fcking effort that was!

I am in R Block Clive and I really didn't enjoy my view of that. All I could see was Smithies scrabbling back to his line.
He was beaten all ends up, looked in all the way from the front of F.
There must be others like that, wonder goals that just missed - Carragher hit the underside of the bar from three quarters of a mile out against us on his last game at Anfield.

Had it gone it still wouldn't have eclipsed Gary Alexanders effort against Scunthorpe in the Wembley Play Off Final in 2009.

That was some goal. Rotherham scored a similar one at Wembley in their play-off final as well - which itself was eclipsed by Steve Evans attempting a touchline sprint celebration and his trousers giving way.

For us a Brett Angell effort away somewhere in the Midlands I think is one that springs to mind
Hit the post from about 50 yards
Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal
Against Leicester at home in the Warnock promotion season (1-0 Ishmael Miller), a fat and old Yakubu lobbed Paddy Kenny from out wide about 25 yards from goal. It was a perfect effort and our curry house street fighter goalkeeper pulled off probably his best save for the club.

I honestly can't figure out why there isn't a 40-yard lob every 2.6 games. The keeper's always too far out these days. All you need is a lad on the halfway line who can hoof the ball very far. That's it, let's play a few keepers outfield and tell them to lump it.
It's genius, I tells ya, Genius!!!

I've never seen a video of it ever again but I remember Teddy Sheringham hitting the crossbar vs Argentina in the 02 World Cup following a 17 odd pass move which would've legit been the best goal I'd ever seen

I sit near you Clive and i was confident it was going wide. Well, fairly confident. Tremendous shot though. For us, that 30-pass move v Boro when mcclaren was here. Elsewhere, Waddle from 50 yds v W Germany in the 1990 WC semi. Incredible shot.
