Not Mrs.

After yesterday’s hilarity.

Dean Coney. Obvs.
Kevin Gallen at Walsall, 1998. I think he was over the goal line and still missed.
Michael Robinson away at West Ham 1986. 1-1, last minute just him, the ball, the open goal and net. Put it out of the ground.

Gotta larf innit.

As I just mentioned on another thread: Helguson came on at Palace for his debut and not long after is left with the ball 20 yards out, GK nowhere to be seen, fires it wIde of the open goal.

In terms of consequences, Bright’s last week was spectacular. That result and confidence boost might have set QPR for the rest of the season.

The obvious recent ones of Hugill v Wigan (?) and BOS at Norwich.

I can vaguely remember Nygaard at Palace firing a ball from a yard against the bar and Kazenga Lua Lua racing through at Hillsborough and their keeper falling down and he still put the ball over the bar

Tommy Williams against Cardiff in the playoff final. Maybe not missing a sitter but a rank bad choice of final ball (which is also something we're suffering badly from at the moment).

I was at the game when Barton bobbled one onto the post from the edge of the six yard box

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Clive Allen in the 7-0 drubbing of Burnley. Two yards out, open goal, on a hat-trick, shins it against the post and Roeder scored the rebound. Roeder runs off celebrating Allen puts his head in his hands, gutted.

Wegerele blazing over a chance to make it 5-1 at Old Trafford.

Not a shocking miss, just one that rankles a bit for some reason.

That pïssed me off too.

I remember Tony Sealey scooping a goal bound shot over the bar from about two inches out. Will never know how he managed it. Can't remember who we were playing though.

You are not wrong. I remember the Wegerle's miss more than the goals we scored.

I think it irks me because how often do we ever score 5 away? We did at Everton but let in two consolation goals so 5-1 became 5-3. We will probably never get near to score scoring 5 at Old Trafford ever again even though 4 is pretty good for our only win there.

The first time we played Chelsea after the 6-0 we went 3-0 down at Stamford bridge, we got one back and with still a long way to go the ball was played along the 6 yard box, All Michael Robinson had to do was make a decent contact, he “topped “ the ball and it got caught under his studs, had that gone in I’m sure we would have got at least a point.

I remember John Spencer putting one over the bar from about 2 yards out.
Very similar to the Hugill miss at home v Wigan last season.
Not sure exactly where the Spencer miss was.
Definitely cold and in the north. Bury? Port Vale? Stockport? Oldham?
