I used to have this very recording on flexi-disc. One of the great forgotten (if it was ever-remembered) happy birthday songs. It was my birthday yesterday. All things considered it was fairly happy. Flexi-discs make me happy. Great lyrics here. Poignant. I dare say the fcuker that wrote it (Bobby Bluebell?) was barely in twenties.
