Huge impact. My MotM for how he took control of the midfield after coming on. His best performance for us, IMO.

I know I poke fun at Dom but as far as I am concerned he is a cult hero.

Technically Ball has his limitations but he makes up for it in other ways. If ever a match was tailor-made for Ball, this was it. I was amazed that he was benched and not altogether surprised that he made such a difference when he came on. That being said, the sooner QPR get Field fit the better as we need options in the middle of the park.

A limited player in several ways but an important cog in our Team. He made massive difference when he was brought on. So, so busy, everywhere. A player who is a 'pain in the arse' to play against. His attitude to the game, his team and Manager is proper, proper decent.

I am not sure Field will be any better than Ball.........we will see but he is going to do a lot of work for the team.

Possibly a strange thing to say but for me his name would be the 1st on the sheet. He allows the more gifted players to play and personally I don't think he is that bad on the ball.

He has a touch of the derrys about him for sure , can’t for the life of me see why he was on the bench against Barnsley? Maybe he had a mare last time we played them , can’t remember

Has a touch of the Holloway’s about him. And he ain’t that bad a footballer given the chance.

Poll: Where will Clive put QPR in his new season preview

Nothing strange about that opinion, not far from mine. Not sure about 1st on the team sheet!!!!!

I have seen Ball in training and the thing you notice is how technically good he is.

Alot better than he is given credit for

Field was decent during the second half of last season and struck a decent understanding with Stefan.

In any event, it's not about whether Field is better than Ball or vica-versa. It's about having good options in the central midfield because injuries and suspensions will take their toll in a demanding league.

Amos ought to make a difference too. I know he's more of an attacking midfielder, but as Willock moves into more of striking role (or so it seems to me) there are jobs up for grabs behind him. Besides Chair and Jojo no one else has caught the eye.

As others have mentioned he has a bit of Holloway as a player but also has a bit of Shaun Derry. Never gonna be the big bright star - will make a few mistakes but is strong as an ox and never stops running and making crucial, unsexy and workmanlike performances that are the backbone of good performances.

Him and Uncle Albert stood out for me today and made a big difference after they came on.

Ball and Adomah were the game changers today, made a real impact. For me Thomas really struggled in that right wing back role, Dozell just not at the races, but think he will be OK.

Agree Ball was very good today and the game was made for him as Dozzell was getting eaten alive, agree the Ball/ JoJo axis is akin to Holloway/Wilkins and he does a lot of unselfish work, Field will be 1st choice when he’s fit though as on a different level, but fair play to Dom, does a great job for the side

I agree, I don’t understand this consensus that he’s a limited player, though I don’t watch as many games as most on here. His strength and confidence allowed him to make a decisive contribution in getting us going forward, which was completely beyond Dozzell today.

agree he is not a limited player at all, great when he turns and yes sometimes the ball gets away from him but so far this season this is not the case. Stella performance today, he and Uncs got us out of a hole and allowed Willock and Chair more time to shine. Younger than he looks he will learn from his errors and plays with a lot of emotion

Thomas is not a wide player, not sure what his best position is but wide it is not. Chiar, Willock, Uncs, Ball, Jojo are prepared to move forward and get beyond the opposition and pick a positive pass Thomas look so unsure of himself and looked for a safe option every time, usually backwards

captains fantastic

Due to train issues and having my son with me I was early to the ground today for the first time in ages, so got to see the players going through their pre match drills.

Dom Ball caught my eye - he was doing Rondos with a few others, Dozzell, Thomas among them, and everytime it broke down it was Ball with a heavy touch, misplaced pass, etc. The others were almost immaculate in comparison.

Then he comes on after half hour, with the aforementioned Dozzell and Thomas looking well out their depth, and completely changes the tempo and application of the team, swinging things back in our favour.

That sums him up for me... Others are more proficient, especially with the ball. He's not the most technical, he will occasionally over play with his head writing cheques his feet can't cash, but 'hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard' is basically about Dom Ball - and he's bloody likeable with it.

A superb squad player and becoming more and more someone we can trust to do a job for us. Credit where its due

My MOM closely followed by Dunne and Albert.
