Reasons to be cheerful 23:10 - Oct 29 with 1789 viewsqprxtc

F ucked if I know.

Everything decays
Forest tumbles down to make the soil
Planets fall apart
Just to feed the stars
and stuff their larders
And what made me think we're any better
And what made me think we'd last forever
Was I so naive?
Of course it all unweaves

Six cans of Hobgoblin. Gobhoblin. Nobhoblin. Hobnoblin. Haemoglobin. Hermaphroditism.

Where’s Erica Roe these days

Moses was excellent - best game I’ve seen him play. If he can kick in from here, we’ll have a proper player here
Albert - brilliant again
Johansen - really came on strong 2nd half
Back 3 looked solid. Big improvement
I thought no one had a bad game
Good reaction from Tuesday

Good points.

I also thought Dozzell played well.

Suffering since 1978.

Agree with all of that. Also for me thought the defence was very good.
Dunne for me as the makings of a good legendaryish CH in the Danny Shittu model, whole hearted and does not take prisoners
Noticed him on our corners and he is niggley little sod getting in players faces and moves about like a cat on a hot tin roof. Quite a lot there to like

Not looking to be negative and I seem to be in the minority here but I’m not fully convinced by Dunne yet. We seem a bit slower and more ponderous with him in defence and tend to drop deeper as a result. When we do push up it leaves us open to the counter attack as teams get in behind easily. I prefer de Wijs at the moment.

Reasons to be cheerful?
It could have been a lot worse - refereeing decisions seeemed to go our way.
Johnson could have done more damage if his final ball was as good as the way he ran at defenders.
We did most things right in the latter stages of the game (before their equaliser).
We are still in the mix.

We were watching Dunne and how vocal be is as well... Constantly getting the other defenders in position and leading the back line. Definitely a good prospect there.

And for the last two games, we've had clean sheets after 90 mins, so the defence must be improving.

To return to the OP, isn't it 1, 2, 3?

You like numbers, qprxtc.

Trying to be positive after a week where we have not had the rub of the green.
1. Dozell was really good. We need to be patient with him but think there's a big player there.
2. Return from injury of field and Amos. Both improve the team and will enable steff to play his natural game
3. Dykes getting better and better.
4. I wrote Albert off after the Orient game but wow he's been amazing on the wing.
5. The fans. Now I ignore social media and all things qpr when we lose but went to forest and Sunderland games and the fans turned up and never really turned on the team.

A potential reason to be miserable is I assume we would have got Arsenal away in the Cup. We would have had a chance as they are not that great. Can't see anything cheerful just yet. Need more time...

I'd say Dunne is already a better player than De Wijs and will only get better. I think we have a real decent Championship Centre Half in Dunne.

Don't get criticism about his pace, don't see it, made wrong decision for Peterborough's 2nd, took a step towards midfielder which gave Dembele a yard headstart but still recovered and was shoulder to shoulder with him 40 yards later.

Dunne imo is similar to Dykes in that his running style belies a decent level of pace.

Thought we played well. The effort was absolutely top notch. The players were going hell for leather in the second half. Got to applaud Warburton and the players for that. They couldn't have given a drop more.

I thought Dunne’s lack of pace was noticeable against Preston and Peterborough but admittedly those are the only two games I’ve seen him in the flesh. So maybe I’m being harsh.

To be honest I’m not fully convinced by de Wijs either and would prefer to have a centre back with a bit more pace alongside Dickie and Barbet.
