Amazing what he's doing for his mate and the entire cause. He is incredibly inspiring.

But does he know a Prime Minister or senior minister in government? If not, he clearly does not qualify!

Can we go out yet?

The man is a total legend, if carlsberg made mates...

Had the pleasure of meeting him and Rob Burrow at RL, just wandered up and chatted. Burrow (and his Mum and Dad) are an absolute delight, Sinfield is more serious but so impressive. Apparently he was brought up in a commune by Maoist parents! He has such an inspirational sense of what’s possible in common.

Rugby League completely invisible down here as well mate.
If he was an England RU international doing all this stuff he'd have been a Sir years ago.

Kevin Sinfield is an absolute treasure.

He received an award at last year’s Sports Personality. He was so humble.

I said to the missus at the time, if this fella doesn’t deserve a knighthood, then nobody does.

That was real tear wrenching last week when he carried him over the finish line of the Leeds marathon.
An ex work colleague of mine Paul “paddy” Hampshire died of motor neurone disease a few years back, he played in division 4 for Aldershot in the late 80’s.

There's a fair chance he's been offered one and turned it down. I don't know if he retains those earlier political leanings, but he was very open about being a Marxist as a younger man. If he has changed then I shouldn't imagine by very much.

Watching him these past couple of years has been an incredible demonstration of solidarity in its truest sense. He would simply go to the ends of the earth to help his mate, without question, and he considers it a perfectly normal thing to do. It's the exact same attitude he displayed as a RL player - he made sure he wrung every ounce of talent out himself before his career was over, working to improve every aspect of his game, and he brought his teammates along with him in that sense too.

Lost my lovely mother-in-law to MND ten years ago to this truely ghastley disease, having to witness firsthand is torture for all that it touches - there is no hope, unlike some cancers you're done for, no chance of defeating it. It's absolutely heartbreaking.

As for Kevin Sinfield, been following his exploits for a while and like others have already said - the man is an absolute legend for what he's done to raise the profile and awareness around MND. Then there's what he's done for his buddy Rob, almost brings me to tears typing this, what a stellar mate to have and for all the sh 1t in going on in the world to know there are people like Kevin out there restores your faith in humankind.

He's a truely wonderful example, a proper hero not some self-publicising gobshite, a gritty, hard as nails fighter with a heart of gold. I'm not one for honours in the current format but this guy deserves way more recognition than he gets, way more. A true modern day British hero in my eyes.

I'm starting to waffle, so, bless you Kevin, and bless you Rob Burrow and family - my thoughts are with you all.

I've seen him described a couple of times recently as 'England Rugby Coach' which, whilst technically true, misses the mark in a way rarely seen.

Hear hear.

And I get the impression Sinfield doesn't need his efforts to be validated by an outdated gong.

He's the sort of person that makes me want to do better. What a friend he is. If he doesn't want a knighthood, he'll still be called Sir by me.

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

It’s more than a friendship. It’s love between two best mates and Kevin is just amazing. I read that he has raised almost £15M for MND charities. What an incredible role-model for young men.
