When Robert Wyatt toured France with Soft Machine (early 70s?) they did a number of radio interviews. At some point every French DJ would say with gusto Matching Mole! Wyatt eventually asked why they were saying this and was told it was actually Machine Molle a French translation of Soft Machine. So when the band split acrimoniously at the end of tour or in effect Wyatt was kicked out he formed a new band and called it Matching Mole. I’ll always find that funny.
