Totally agree, the game for me in terms of Rangers winning was over once Colback was sent off. Thought Ainsworth was naive not making changes at half time to try and make a fist of it. Still such a hard watch again from the upper loft with such a paucity of Rangers attacking action at our home end. Sunderland are a decent team we made it easy for them.

I'm not sure what we were trying to do in the second half, just seemed to sit on the edge of our box and hope for the best. After a few positive performances I found that quite concerning. They have a few excuses with the red card etc but we really needed an attacking threat other than knock it long for Armstrong to chase

I'm in agreement with you Dave & thought that the second half was reminiscent of the performance at Watford. We had no discernable shape or formation & every sub confused us more.

The first rule of playing with ten men is to maximise your possession rather than hit everything long & high. Especially when your forward is not going to win aerial battles or hold up the ball. It doesn't matter if you're going nowhere with the ball, keep it away from the oponents, particulary when they show no sign of sitting back.

It will be interesting how we approach the Swansea match as they will sit deep & invite us forward. Possibly the first game this season when we are expected to make the running.

Cheers Clive - Spot on as always.

Shame it was turning into a decent game 11 v 11. I think the plan was to try and keep in the game until the 80th minute when we could of opend up a bit and throw caution to the wind. The third goal sort of killed that plan off.

I would start with Willock ahead of Chair on Tuesday and prehaps SDM to replace Colback.

We struggled with MOM too but gave it to Field (just) in the car on the way home.

I know its still early in the season but Tuesdays game is already huge. Surely a goal at The Loft End is on the cards, I mean the law of averages and all that.

Pretty much bang on. A lot's been said about Ainsworth's tactics but essentially this game was decided by the red card. Whilst I understand Jack's strength is his combative nature, this was a poor decision from an experienced pro who was too fired up for this match. Fingers crossed he only serves a 1 match suspension (though I'm not holding my breath). On to Tuesday's match which is an opportunity to improve home form and put some daylight between us and the bottom 3.

Yes, I just looked it up. It's three. There doesn't appear to be any wiggle room for a badly timed tackle other than "Denies an obvious goal-scoring opportunity to an opponent moving towards the player's goal by an offence punishable by a free kick or a penalty kick", which clearly doesn't apply in this case.

Opportunity for one of the double-barrelleds to step up.

We can only hope.

If we go with an extra midfield player rather than Dykes I'd like to see
