Refs just pick on a player at a certain point - and we were certainly milking it as like all teams.
The old I'll take it actually no you jog here and waste another 15 seconds trick was clearly in play. Always think it's a difficult one for refs as if you applied timewasting laws (as I understand em) every team with a delicate lead will end games with 8 or 9 men the way everyone goes about it these days. |  | | |

Nardi was taking the piss with the goal kicks so deserved the booking imo, ref did warn him if he slows down a free kick again he'll book him and he did by making out he was going to take it |  | | |

The referee probably didn't have cause to caution Nardi when he did & pre-empted the defender walking away for Nardi to take the free kick, but I rather liked the approach that the ref took. The same right at the end with making Ashby go off even though the medical staff didn't enter the pitch.
I could see why he is being fast tracked through the divisions. |  | | |

Ashby was taking the proverbial, listened to the crowd and rolled back on, and the ref knew it. No issues with the way he dealt with it. The lino with the yellow flag though? Not his best of games in the first half. |  |

Ashby seems to be able to demonstrate a little microscosm of his game even when he only comes on for 10 mins.
Wins it, gives it away, great speed and skill, cheeky wink to his team mate, gives it away, fakes an injury and makes a tit of himself, excluded from the pitch, final whistle.

We'd done the same routine (outfield player stands over the ball then Nardi wonders over to take it like he's out for a nice stroll in the park) a few times, and I guess the ref decided he was going to just book the common denominator and send a clear message that he was tired of it. | | | |
