Songs, brilliant from start to finish 20:09 - Dec 17 with 995 viewscharmr

Songs with a great start and ending, uprising crescendos, verses, choruses, middle eights etc.

Thought about this as the radio played

Bowie’s Rock and Roll Suicide

Two songs with absolutely no filler by virtue of being two minutes long, and both manage to squeeze in a little mid-section solo. Pop-rock perfection

Well gotta say that describes most of the songs by this hirsute gentleman. Been on my radar since the winter if '74. One of my favorites.

When you reach the place beyond thoughts, the only thing you'll find is love and the only purpose of life becomes to ease the suffering of others.

Shudder to Think - Red House. I love the way the song builds while not changing too much. It's gradual but it gets really powerful. And Craig's vocals, as ever, are superb.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

I’m not a massive Nick Cave fan, but Jubilee Street is one that fits the OPs criteria.

The female backing vocals that kick in toward the end are just perfect.

I need a SAGA. What’s the SAGA? It’s ….. Queen’s Park Rangers.

Never heard this before, thanks Bluce.

Reminded me a little of this:

Maybe it doesn't quite fit the criteria, but the story captivates from start to finish.

Even as a 3 year old listening to good old Capital Radio in my mum's car I thought "Hello? What's this?" Probably my favourite pop song of all time.

Fabulous track - but agree with Macca that all the strings and whatnnot put on by Phil Spector rather ruins it - the stripped down version on 'Let it Be - Naked' gives us a better 'feel' of how he originally meant it to sound, imo.
