We'd be getting rid of Warburton because we haven't got Eze and Hugil anymore...

Angel > Kakay/Kane
Manning > Hamalainen/Wallace
Cameron 2019 > Cameron 2020
Eze > Willock
Hugill > Dykes
Wells > Bonne
BOS 2019 > BOS 2020

Clive is right. Survival is all that matters this season.

Suffering since 1978.

And clean sheets.

Any win, unlikely as it is, would be 2-1 or 3-2 or 4-3 or 27-26.

for me this was the big summer for the club, we got ourselves into a position where we had sellable assets and a chance to reinvest, all the work done on improving scouting and coaching over the last 5 years should have come to fruition this summer.

We got some things right, I like Dykes, Dickie, Wilock and Kelman sounds promising but losing 1 player in Eze and the 2 loan strikers even with covid should have given us a budget to improve the team overall and we haven't done that at all. We are still a weak in central midfield and still poor at the back. These were obvious problems that should have been sorted. Replacing the goals from last season was always going to be hard but we could and should have done more to make us a better overall team who doesn't need to score 3 goals to win a game. The way we lose Manning and are about to lose Bright doesn't reflect well on the club either. Maybe it will come good in time but I think questions need to be asked of everyone at the club if this season goes as badly as it's looking.

Doesn't the board have final say on signings? I'm sure Warbs was keen to sign attacking players to resolve the issue of losing Eze, Wells and Hugill. But the defending issues were also pretty obvious, there should have been more balance. Signing Dickie is great but we need more quality there and in midfield.

I suppose ultimately beggars can't be choosers and I'm sure we had other targets who had their heads turned by more money offered by other clubs.

All told, not easy.

They do and they shouldn't be exempt here including Ferdinand.
It was never going to be an easy task and don't expect us to be a side pushing for the playoffs but we should be doing better than some of the shit above us in the table

Well said Dave B to many excuses on here for how poor and unorganised we are at the back
Clive said in his preview at the start of the season that you have to be proper Sh1t to be relegated this year , let’s hope those words don’t come back to bite us on the Rs

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

The question you asked in relation to whether we should have done better with the players we had last season is a great one.
My answer is yes but with one or two caveats.
Dieing is a far superior keeper to Lumley and Kelly.
Cut out 10% of goals conceded from set pieces and I'm pretty certain we would have conceded 15 less goals last season.
Its all conjecture anyway but on tonights game.
A heavy defeat will leave warbs deep in the brown stuff job security wise.

That Stoke game at home last season easily one of my favourites. Really hope we get a result tonight, we really need it!

With the caveat that I am yet to be convinced the midfield did get bummed in the gob with Amos' season ending injury just as he remembered he is a footballer.

Sexy Asian dwarves wanted.
