They've been doing this for a while, it's how Ruben has slowly built up a greater stakeholding in the club than TF. Its good for us, the money they've put in to keep the club running isn't being accumulated by the club as debt, it's being periodically converted into shares. I know they get stick, I know they've made mistakes, but they are paying for that.

Quite liderally...

Does deserve praise though - can't pretend I understand all the ins and outs of this but that amount of real debt hanging over us would be a nightmare.

It means that if you had lent QPR a pound, then QPR redeemed that loan by giving you 100 shares instead.

So redeeming 17.1 million pounds worth of debt necessitated issuing 1.7bn shares.

It doesn't say who they were issued to, nor how it affects the balance of ownership of the club.

I was imagining a scene from The Wolf of Wall Street where Leonardo Di Caprio was delivering his sales pitch to some about to be poorer, unfortunate punter at the other end of the phone line.

"I found this football club in West London, sitting on prime real estate, the team's in good form and is already preparing to deliver promotion to the Premier League next season, where there are unbelievable riches to be had. And guess what, because I'm in early, I can get these shares for you for two pence a share.....There is no downside here...... "
