I agree. We've seen this a million times, players who are young with loads of potential that just isn't quite good enough when they hit their early 20s.
As we say here, if you kiss enough frogs eventually you'll... die of some disease they've given you. |  |

The success rate is so minute that its easy to belittle players who were good when younger then didn’t ‘step up’ to the next level. It’s not linear growth, it’s a very steep exponential growth.
I see loads of good players at youth level but how many of them will make it? 0.1% probably. |  | | |
