Maybe that's what they want and not the best thing to do, however much you may want to do that.
The kidnappers will have targeted his dad for a reason.....ransom.
Let the authorities deal with it (I'm sure Diaz could also contribute towards any legitimate financial support to help with this), by being there it could be playing into the kidnappers hands.
