Talk about how we’ve turned it around and Boro was also mentioned. Since Boro lost Hackney, they’ve got 3 points from 4 games. We had a big dip when Madsen went off. I think it takes time for coach and players to adapt to missing such an important player. Clearly Madsen isn’t as good as Hackney but he’s certainly as important for them as Madsen is for us. The coach and rest of side have needed some games to adapt and now we’ve done that.
After we went 1-0 down to Southampton and before Madsen went off, we were the better side. |  | | |

We'll definitely get bids for Kone - there isn't a Championship squad that wouldn't be improved by him. Interesting to see how the board respond.

If club really wish to emulate Brentford's trajectory, we need to embrace selling our biggest talents every summer (especially strikers) and trust in the recruitment model.
(the later part may require leap of faith)
£10m from Brum, Wrexham, Ipswich or Burnley etc for Kone.
Kolli becomes the 9 alongside Burrell, Obikwu understudy, plus £2m invested in L1 striker and LB. Rest services debt.

If we're rejecting nearly £6m for Varane, I would turn on the auto-reject setting for anything under £10m plus a v big sell on for Kone. He's going to be a £15-20m player in the next 2-3 years, without doubt.
We do need to get used to our better players moving on without having big wobblies about a lack of ambition, etc. But you'd hope we get another year out of him, Madsen, Burrell and others, just to see if there's enough there for a playoff push next season. |  |

I think its more about who we replace our best players with, and trusting the clubs judgment and recruitment which causes the wobblies. It is a fine balance , between selling the best players but also building a competitive team every season. We haven't really done that well on both fronts for years. Unless not getting relegated is deemed the success.
Personally, i think we should sell early these days, if we get decent offers. We need that turnover. We seem to have a bit more depth in the squad, but i also think our recruitment has improved the further away we've got from the Tony Fernandes era. |  |
