Not that the current business model of more than revenue on wages is sensible in the slightest, but I don't see how this would do anything more than favour the clubs coming down from the Premiership coming down with huge parachute payment revenue outstripping everyone else and thus able to outspend them even more.
I know its the League 1 / 2 model, and you see in League 1 now a lot of clubs going down and coming immediately back up, and the finances aren't as much of a gulf as they are between Premiership / Championship. |  | | |

This only benefits the wealthier clubs and, therefore, those with parachute payments. If their Prem clubs today had a chance to vote on it, they’d surely vote for it. It enhances the closed shop issue and will likely make it harder for clubs like us to compete.
PSR/FFP, whilst financially mad to be about losing up to £39m (more if you factor in disallowable costs) in a rolling 3 year period, does feel like it creates more of a level playing field than this new proposal even though the higher revenue clubs can spend more under it before hitting that loss cap. |  | | |

On the other hand, you could argue that clubs where the owners refuse to invest in their support base, in the form of bigger stadium, better facilities, seating fit for the 21st Century, beer that isn’t just warm Carlsberg, pies that don’t hermetically seal to the roof of your mouth, remove the bar from season ticket holders and point those same fans onto a cold concourse, are about to reap what they sow.
We’re a forgiving bunch but you can’t get past the fact that we’ve been treated like shit for too long.
Of course they could actually pay attention, sort those issues I’ve mentioned and then, perhaps, the club will deserve the opportunity to compete. |  | | |

If this is the system that is currently being used in Leagues 1 and 2 am I correct in thinking that any payments made by owners into supporting the club counts as revenue? Hence Brum were able to spend stupid amounts of money the season before last? | |

Championship clubs are voting on a proposal to align with the Premier League from next season by replacing their profitability and sustainability (P&S) rules with a squad cost ratio system that would cap spending on player costs at 85% of football revenue.

Yes it gives even more favour to parachute payments clubs, so the three down, then the same three up the following season, is even more likely to happen.
If sixteen out of the leagues current clubs in the championship ok this, then they really are totally dim.
I wonder when this vote is done, will we be able to see who voted yes or no.
To vote yes by ourselves, would make zero sense.... |  |
