Celar is great at shooting; he's very accurate, which is why we signed him.
However, he cannot trap a bag of cement, and in the champ you have to hold the ball up. If it's two or one up top, one or both need to hold the ball so the team can get out.
Also, hold-up play is needed to do 1-2s, and you get the ball back and can shoot. He also, despite his size, cannot head the ball. So, he totally relies upon the rest of the team creating chances for him. And he won't contribute to breaking the press, or making the press or bringing the ball out, and for sure he cannot do hold-up play. This means it's like playing with 10 men, and in the same season, Madsen was not with it either. Playing with 9 sometimes we were. Madsen changed position and ran more, Celar got injured and then did not fancy it.
Speed he does not have, but Gallen did not have speed, and he could hold the ball up. Gallen would also press. But his hold-up play was great for a smaller player compared to Celar. Don't be surprised if Celar goes somewhere else and scores loads or nothing, hes a luxury player that EFL teams can never afford. Hence that's why he's abroad and will stay there forever.
What it shows is that shooting is not enough; you need to contribute as Kone (hold up play, bashing the oppo defence) and Burrell do (running channels and pressing hard). Hopefully the club has learned that lesson. |  |
