Big thank you to Clive for keeping this forum going
at 22:14 31 Dec 2023

Those horrendous stats about our 5 and 10 year losing record were so miserable, it’s nuts we’re all still so invested in this sh1t show. But I’ll read this forum every day, very occasionally posting and as others have said, we’re very lucky you’re a Ranger, Clive. Thank you for finding the time, energy and inspiration amongst the slop to write so brilliantly. Happy New Year to all.

My worry is we’ve used up all our wild cards tonight. Penalty, red card for us, Willock goal and to cap it all a Ben Pearson own goal. Probably wont get another thing all season 😂

To get from say 10% to 80% charged, probably between 10-30 mins with rapid chargers being installed now. Lamppost chargers it’s an overnighter.

If you can fit a home charger and don’t regularly do more than c.200 miles a day its a no brainer to get one….running cost/emissions/drive quality.
Companies like OVO and Octopus offer cheap electricity tariffs for EV drivers (check the compatibility of make/model of car/charger first).
If its a company car you’ll pay very little tax compared to petrol/diesel.
Charging infrastructure if you need to charge away from home is not perfect and is poor in some places but we’re on a journey with it. Its far far better than it was 1/2/3 years ago and will continue to improve. All new installs have chip and pin.
Consider a used EV. Batteries on anything under 5/6 years old are generally reliable and used EV prices have come down significantly over the last 6 months.

Rare poster but avid reader here Clive. Sincere thanks for lightening the heavy load this season. Still made me laugh after every bloody horror show. We’re lucky to have you. Hope you get a bit of a break this Summer.

How about Gavin Ward. He's ours, his kicking looks ok in the warm ups and he's only 52. John Burridge was older and still playing...I think.

About the best defensive display you will ever see. First contacts, second balls, rebounds. We won the lot. Incredible effort.

Massive thank you to you Clive. Your previews and reviews are the highlight of the week. Patreon is a ‘must’. Merry Christmas to you and to all R’s. We should all be so proud of this current team. From Lee, through Les, the coaching set up and squads.

Dieng for me. Dickie also superb in first Championship season. Don’t underestimate the effect a good keeper has on the defence in front of him. And on second half of the season, special shout out to Barbet and Wallace. Think I read that Barbet has played every minute of every game which if true deserves a gong.

Dickie will correctly get the plaudits today. And Barbet has been superb for several games now. But let’s give credit to Cameron who at 35 and having played pretty much every minute of every game, is using his undoubted experience to pull this team through some very tough games. He’s a great leader, motivator and has that back 3/5 focussed and well organised. Well done Geoff.

Clive, as a very occasional poster but daily reader I’d certainly be happy to make a regular contribution to keep this going. Thanks for another fabulous season of writing. We’re extremely lucky that you’re a Rangers fan.

Musicals
at 21:42 29 May 2020

Jesus Christ Superstar (originally released as an album before becoming a musical) is fantastic.
Les Mis
Hamilton pretty damn good too

Not really a musical but Didn’t Michael Nyman write a piece of music dedicated to the R’s? They should do a musical based on the Flavio and Bernie era. Italianesque. Gigidicanio, Bernie and Flavio would be a great opening number.

There’s a lot of myths and confusion around electric cars at the moment for sure. These guys will be worth following to get the answers ...Clive/fellow R’s I’m involved so excuse the plug but it’s a great start up and has been set up to address these very myths...

From C block, Cousins had good game. He’s got a strong physical presence and the partnership with Scowen improving all the time. Both were very good at Villa too. Playing in his natural position now and benefitting from doing so. Bidwell MOM. Great to see Hall come through 90 mins.

Bloody outstanding performance lads
at 21:57 1 Jan 2019

Yes we were excellent today right through the team. Thing that strikes me is just how well organised we are everyone knows their jobs and concentration levels are spot on. Cousins and Scowen excellent in the middle, Pav was immense, Freeman quality (ball to Pav before the goal beautiful) and would have got winner if Samuel had found him near the end. And Eze despite missing great chance in first half, kept head up played well with the tireless Wells and scored fantastic second. Wells, for a loan player, puts in an incredible shift. This team really gave everything today. Steve rightfully takes so much credit but Leistner is a real find. First season in English league but he’s immense and clearly a respected leader on the pitch. Had a tough game today against a Prem striker but had our back 4 very well organised. Fantastic day out at Villa Park.
