I watched the last episode of line of duty and thought that was good. Undercover has finally grabbed by attention. I quite like some of the investigative programmes Stacey Dooley does. However I can't wait for the next series of people just do nothing.

I started watching the second series of the BBC's "Am I being unreasonable?" and initially decided to give up on it.

With all the "Memento" style flashbacks and surreal goings-on, it requires a lot of concentration, but then I decided to give it another go and was really glad I had.

The humour is sophisticated, works on lots of different levels, and lurks here, there and everywhere. It's definitely worth persevering with, in my humble opinion đź‘Ś.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Just finished the last episode of Series 4 of Slow Horses… absolutely immense TV and I believe it’s thanks to Brian Mac who rated it highly here.
I understand the fifth season due this summer which I’m sure will be same high standards of those already out (series one probably the lowest ranked of the four so far).

Gary Oldman totally steals the show in every scene he’s in.
One of this country’s finest actors but he’ll always be “Bexy from The Firm” for me.

Highly highly recommend

I really enjoyed 'The Terror' great cast helped.

Yeah Jared Harris is excellent in it. Watched it quite a few years ago on a whim without really knowing anything about it, loved it. Very unusual vibe, quite haunting.

Halfway through Midnight Mass on Netflix - pretty good modern horror.

I'm sure I've posted it before but I love Mike Flanagan, Haunting Of Hill House is one of my all time favorite shows, I've watched it from start to finish a few times. Midnight Mass is great, and Haunting Of Bly Manor (loosely based on Turn Of The Screw) also very good. The more recent Fall Of The House Of Usher was good in places too, especially the first few episodes.

Edit In Haunting Of Hill House they hid ghosts on screen throughout that aren't seen or referred to by the characters, so you're always peering into the shadows wondering if you can see something hiding, very cool

Agree with this, very cleverly written show. Does require high levels of concentration as mentioned so I should probably watch again not on a Friday night while sinking end of week beers.

Highly recommended.

OK, thought the initial series would be a one-off, given where it ended. Will definitely watch the second run, I had no idea of the premise of the first one, it went to places I didn't expect. Bleakly brilliant and genuinely funny.

Watched 4 episodes of Virdee. Really enjoying it - well made, some excellent performances.

Adolescence on Netflix just dropped. Another Stephen Graham masterclass. Always his best acting when he's playing a version of himself. Here he takes the supporting actor role to Ashley Walters who is also fantastic.

As a parent with kids at school, this is a must watch. Depressingly so.

Just finished this 4 parter and it’s absolutely compelling .

Episode 2 is a strange one but I thought the other 3 episodes were tremendous .
Filmed as single shot takes (Ala 1917) so the events happen in real time .

Stephen Graham fast becoming one of our most prolific actors . His performance is a masterclass as you rightly say Toast_R.
Forgive me for not remembering the kids name ( is that Ashley Walter’s?) in his first acting role but wow. What a performance too. Especially in episode 3. A lot is ad-libbed and actors using artistic licence but it’s great .
Thought provoking and a must watch .

Toxic Town on Netflix is very good. It's a drama based on the contaminated waste scandal in Corby which left children with birth defects. There is a great cast with Rory Kinnear and Jodie Whittaker and its up there with the best of British TV.

Just finished the 4th and final episode this evening.

Great TV

Criminal proceedings against authorities in this country are a joke.
How nobody does time for these flagrant cases of negligence and manslaughter is beyond me.

Watched the first two, it's brilliant TV. The acting is fantastic, and the one-take camera work is amazing.

Yeah the "it takes a village" narrative and the nuanced way it shines a light on the challenges of being and raising a kid is.... Troubling, to put it mildly

Edit. My wife told me she'd read it was all one take but I was convinced it had to have post production stitching to give the impression. But I googled it and she was right, interesting article here (with spoilers) https://variety.com/2025/artisans/news/adolescence-one-take-episodes-netflix-123

Owen Cooper plays the kid. Stunning. Episode 3 in particular.

My wife and I were completely wrung out after the final episode.

Just watched this, excellent and yet another example of the rampant corruption in society that shits on ordinary people. Yet so many continue to fall for it and keep the worst types in power.

Great cast, the lawyer in particular was superb but all were excellent. The actress playing the mother whose baby died is just impossibly pretty. Quite mesmerising in fact.

1883 on Netflix is a brilliant depiction of an immigrant wagon train trying to reach Oregon

Rattled thru all 10 episodes, breathtaking scenery and rollercoaster ride.

Also

Mulholland Drive. Watched this film last night, anyone know this movie and what was it about...I'm baffled

captains fantastic
Poll: SWEET F'IN CAROLINE. Played every half time

Watched the first two episodes last night and had to watch some of it again to admire the drone work, the final scene for example where it finishes on the dad laying flowers in the car park was particularly good. And how did they do the bit where the kid jumps out the classroom window? It must have been an open window with some clever editing to make it look like a dirty closed one as the camera goes through a fixed pane window! The one take filming is a nice trick but is it really necessary? I'll reserve judgement until I've seen the rest but it's working so far. Top recommendation.

Daredevil Born Again is very good. Just as good as the Netflix series originally.

Smells like a trout farm in here

I said the same about those two shots. Also the first episode where the camera is keeping up with the cars at the start and then ends up in the house, some crazy planning involved
