Used to come round Paddington area as well. Think they were called Toni's though due to the families Italian roots. Used to be an Ice Cream shop next to Church St market with everything made on the premises. |  | | |

Bought a box of cornettos and a box of the Aldi-brand ones. I nearly dropped my cone. The cornetto was tasteless and stingy with the nut crumbs. The Aldi one full of flavour plus bonus Nutella-like chocolate hiding down in the middle of the cone. And price-wise the cornetto over double the price - skank! |  |

Tesco used to sell ginger ice cream. It wasn't one of their premium brands, as I recall, and was utterly immense.
I just came back from a holiday in southern Italy, and in one restaurant, in Matera, I got my gnashers round some vanilla, fennel seed and dried fig ice cream. The dried fig element added a chewy, sweet and slightly tangy note to it, the fennel contributed a hint of aniseed and it came enrobed in a caramel sauce too. It was wicked!

I think they've been fcuking about with the sugar. Mixing it with corn syrup or something. The same way Mexican coke is the best one now because it's not a biproduct of fat kunt Midwestern corn subsidies.
Obviously this whole post could be interpreted as an angry drugs analogy but it's really not.

I normally can't be arsed with ice cream. I'll take most other dessert options over it. But Italian gelato is a bad motherf*cker. Chocolate flavour ice cream is frozen liquid filth but the chocolate gelato you get in Italy is like sex in yo mouth. |  |
