jaysus, that was a cold cold night but warmed up by some seriously great tactics from MB and some proper performances none more so than Barbet, Cameron, Hall, Manning and Eze. Also the best game i've seen yet from pugh pugh barney macgrew.

Rooney looked class i have to say, spraying the ball round but the mugging from Eze for our second was joyous.

Ya, I thought they played lovely football.

Funny but I went on their site (DCFC fans) last night and most posters thought both sides were sh*t.

Not sure what passes as entertainment in those parts (ovine in nature?) but I thought it was tons of fun, a slow start but really developed as a spectacle. If their final chance had gone in, I don't think we could have grumbled too much; but it didn't.

Stats say both teams had 15 shots.

Am really looking forward to Clive's report especially the Stroud and Rooney stuff.

TBH I thought both teams were very average with a splattering of quality here and there. First half was even and 1-1 a fair result. 2nd half was very entertaining and I thought we shaded it. Really enjoyed it.

Felt Derby played a lot of keepball but in their own half and didn't like the constant pressing. Rooney although still a good player slowed everything down giving us time to organise at the back.

Yeah, in the second half it was telling that Rooney dropped deeper to try and quarterback the game but his pass was intercepted by Eze for a touchdown by Chair.

A bit late but my nonsense.

It was truly brass monkeys.

Rooney's experience and skill was clear to see but we did think that there was a bit of handing over the baton to Eze.

Apart from the slightly extended added on time and the booking of Eze towards the end I'd have assumed someone had replaced Stroud with a very competent double. 2 or 3 times his playing of advantage and then pulling it back for a fk for us was spot on and something we've not always seen from other supposedly better refs. He should get a 7 or 8 for last nights work.

In a season of many entertaining games this was one of the most enjoyable I thought.

Eze's flick. I'm so glad I was there to see it. Just wonderful. Please stay son, we've had a tough time and we need you to help us with some payback.
