Here is a selection of my favourite atmospheres at games involving the rangers.
Also from other others.

That Birmingham game in the snow with Di Carmine is always the game that comes to mind. Just another game really, but forces combined that night to make the 2nd half electrifying.

League Division 3
Queens Park Rangers 6 v 1 Millwall 26 March 1966

League Cup
Queens Park Rangers 4—2 Leicester City 25 October 1966
Queens Park Rangers 3—1 Birmingham City 7 February 1967

Agreed - but Leicester was the best ever - never heard a louder Rangers roar the night that Banks let four in.

I'd also have 0-2 Crewe in there with Andy Hall poncing about as ref. Crowd were fuming that day.

Why does it feel like R'SWiPe is still on the books? Yer Couldn't Make It Up.Well Done Me!

The “Paul Ince is a w-anker” cup game at Old Trafford was a good un. Felt like we kept that song going for a good ten minutes

Purely personal this one - Millwall away 1973 as a very young (naive?) lad.

Went with some school mates, but the ground was packed and we couldn't get tickets in the away end so braved the home Cold Blow Lane End.

Their idea of 'fun' was to call a particular chant which was the signal to push backwards and outwards to create hole, into which they'd grab someone nearby, throw them in the hole and then converge to give them a good beating and kicking.

Character-building.

A rather muted response from us when we scored - we won 0-1.

Tip-toed away from the ground...

One I don’t think has been mentioned yet is the 1-0 vs Leicester in 2011. When Miller scored in the 89th minute, I thought the loft upper was going to collapse. The noise was mental.

Hostility - That Chelsea game
Unusual - The Leeds promotion game, especially pre game
Excitement - The Oldham Play Off
Everything but not at 'home' - Wembley Play off obviously

There have been some other crackers though, most mentioned above, but sadly since relegation from PL, not many games have had that much atmosphere.

Stoke home, won 3-2 after being 2-1 down 1975/76.

A game that really brought fans and players together in thinking this was our year.

Brentford away in the playoff season. Everything about it - losing an early lead, the terrace, news of Tranmere going ahead, McLeod hitting the bar which ultimately led to Bircham’s winner, Bircham’s volley itself - all contributed to an absolutely bouncing away end.

Yeah that was the one I thought of too. In a similar vein, that FA Cup Replay against Arsenal in a monsoon. Something primal about that night.

the oldham play off still sends tingles thru me, when furlong scored wow the roof lifted.
chelsea away and winning, swp scored, what a night, qpr fans singing on the tubes home and chelsea fans just fuming lol
fa cup semi at highbury, 82 wow when allen scored, all hell broke loose, wba were a top6 side then.
chelsea away 83? we won 2-0 gregory scored, 1000s of qpr in the away terrace, they had to keep opening extra sections, when the 2nd went in, qpr were all in the chelsea seats in vast numbers, they were shocked.

Norwich at home in 2007 on Sky on a Monday night only 10k there QPR bottom of table nothing but the die hards non stop singing and when Rowly nipped in for a winner for some reason Norwich seem to bring out the best in our fans can remember a 1 1 draw at Carrow Road with Bradley Allen scoring and a 45 minute burst of "Jim Smiths blue and white army" interspersed with Captain Jack

Went with my son to that one and remember saying to him, "Not as cold as they said it was going to be" as we walked up the stairs in ER. Got to the top of the stairs and then the snow blew straight into our faces - "Hmmm maybe it is" we concluded!

Some memorable ones for me:
Feb 19th 1974 - R’s 3 v Coventry 2 - FA Cup Replay. Bowles winner.
Mar 9th 1974 - R’s 0 v Leicester City 2 - FA Cup QF. Almost 35,000 at LR.
Aug 16th 1975 - R’s 2 v Liverpool 0 - Opening game of the season. 28,000 at LR.
Aug 23rd 1975 - Derby (Champions) 1 v R’s 5 - Bowles hat-trick! A lot R’s at this game.
Apr 17th 1976 - Norwich 3 v R’s 2 - Thousands of R’s at Carrow Rd. So close!
Apr 24th 1976 - R’s 2 v Leeds 0 - LR rammed and the gates locked!
May 27th 1982 - FA Cup Final Replay - R’s turned up in their thousands for this one.
Jan 22nd 1986 - R’s 1 v Chelsea 1 - Milk Cup. A packed LR.
Jan 29th 1986 - Chelsea 0 v R’s 2 - Milk Cup replay. Freezing night but lots of R’s going nuts!
Jan 31st 1990 - R’s 2 - Arsenal 0 - FA Cup 4th Rnd. What a night.

Coventry 0 QPR 1 in 1995: only game I dragged my ex fiancée to, Olly sent off early, Trev with a late winner, rousing rendition of ‘we only need 10 men’ ensued, Ex understanding a bit of why I love my team.....

Thought of another one Coventry away in 1992 I think when an Impey winner in a 1-0 win put us briefly top of the Premier League. Sh-t game but that was such a great time to be a Rangers fan, we were flying.

Yea reading back through this thread that's a good shout, also the Oldham semi that night, 'sold out' signs outside the ground those last 5 minutes that night were unbearable, cant remember our GK's name it might have been Simon Royce but he pulled of a superb save in front of the loft with the clock on about 93 minutes and a Woman a few rows back from me literally screamed when the Oldham player hit it because no question about it the ball was heading into the corner of our net.
Car hooters blaring that night all the way back to the bloody M4.

QPR 1-cHelshit 0, dear me that game, never to be repeated, cHelshit 0- QPR 1 (saw you at that game).

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

That was Chris Day who played in the Oldham game. What a save he made in those last few minutes.I was in the lower loft and I thought that they’d scored from it.
