Not sure if they count as it was after their time with us but Alex McCarthy and Tom Heaton both got England caps.

Though never played for England remember my great uncle saying what a great keeper Reg Allen was and of not for the war would have been an England keeper
Left us for Man U for a then record transfer for a keeper

Ceasar.

A camp, fat, flapping twit we also paid for what seemed like forever not even to sit on the bench, when we were a basket case of a club with a p*ss-taking squad. Played a couple of dozen games in two years at an eye-watering salary that makes my blood boil even now, My Freude was well and truly Schadened by the Germans' demolition of Brazil at which Mr Caesar went the same way as his distant relative Julius.

Poll: What will be our upcoming/final points tally? (8 games to go)

Actually, for us to have had 5 England goalkeepers is incredible.

I wonder if any other club can match it?

With the quality of our defending over the years, hardly surprising we have had a few decent keepers, all that practice etc.

Parkes would surely have had more than his one cap if he wasnt in the same era as Ray Clemence 60 ish caps and Peter 'Tina' Shilton with 125

Poll: Remy - can he play in the playoffs - who's opening post is the best?

Yes, but only one of them was playing for Rangers when they played for England.

We also had England amateur international Mike Pinner.

An absolute disgrace that the great Phil Parkes had the sum total of 1, that's one, England appearances.

if not capped when with us, at least we are a good breeding ground ! loving the big match revisited , goalies in green, refs in black, terraces "packed" no's 1-11, one sub, muddy sand covered pitches , black boots, local shops as sponsors around the pitch not corporates, kids on the pitch at full time, chelsea were crap , brian moore letting people at home watching in black and white "liverpool are in the dark strip" yes we had poverty then ( we rented, rented a b/w tv from redifusion back then) local matches for local people on local tv

Rags? When I was a lad, only the kids from the posh streets had rags. We had to make do with making the smallest kids act as goalposts, by standing them in t' middle of t' street and telling them not t' move or they'd get a right hiding from t' rest of us.

On reflection, we should have told them that it was all right to move when a car came down t' road.

I've mentioned it before but in March 1976, Phil was set to win his second cap against Wales in the friendly to celebrate the Welsh FA's centenary (the game Dave Clement made his debut in plus seven other debutants).

Don Revie had said to him he would play the second half but Revie played the whole game with Clemence instead. Pissed off as you could imagine he apparently told Revie to stuff it and a couple of months later made himself unavailable for the Bicentennial tournament in America against Italy, Brazil and 'Team USA'.

He'd likely have been number 2 keeper and played a couple of times as Shilton had had a bit of a strop and also made himself unavailable tired of being Clemence's permanent understudy so Corrigan and Rimmer went instead as the second and third choice keepers.

Apologies to you & W7Ranger.

In my memory Seaman had left for Arsenal before playing for England & didn't check!
