Sorry to hear. Was a great team to watch back in those days, the 70s, especially from the SCG hill. Chapells, Walters, McCosker some of the great batsmen of that time. And then you had Lillie, Thompson and Tangles (Walker) to throw the speed at you and then spinners Mallett and Jenner for the Sydney tests. That was a great team that Rod played in.
RIP

I was going to put the title as Rodney Marsh, but I thought people might mix up the two famous Marshs.

RIP. Yes, that was an astounding team culminating in them thrashing the great Windies side in 75/76. Wasn’t he one of the original Packer boys? Now Kerry Packer, there’s an interesting character-not a nice man by all accounts but certainly a visionary.

You could have just put “RIP cricketer Rodney Marsh” which would been clear and avoided any unnecessary heart attacks!

A great character and cricketer. Very elegant behind the wicket. Inspired me when I was young. RIP

Never knowingly right.

Used to hate him as a kid watching on the BBC. Now realise I was watching one of the great wicketkeeper/batsmen.Like most Aussie's ,hard as f**king nails on the pitch, really nice off it! A true great of cricket and ashes history thoughts with his family and friends, thanks for the memories Rod!

Anyone remember him trialing an aluminium bat, getting out for a duck and throwing it through the pavilion window?

Great ‘tash too, real spaghetti western stuff!
As above, hated him a player, loved him as a pundit/off the pitch!

He famously sledged Ian Botham by asking, ‘how’s your wife and my kids’?

Botham replied, ‘the wife is fine, but the kids are retarded.’

Rodney Marsh and the close fielders had no choice but to laugh.
