I agree that cannabis should be treated differently to the others, but if the mental health of some users are affected, should it be legalised too?I don’t know what the official figures are,but if it’s 1 in 100,or 1 in 1000,is it a price worth paying? |
the numbers pale into insignificance compared to the amount of damage alcohol does to people, whether physically, mentally or psychologically. But as Alcohol is a taxed commodity, its accepted that there is a budget to deal with the aftermath. I take neither drugs or drink, but there definitely needs to be a joined up, adult conversation about how much money is spent trying to deter drug lords and the futile attempts at preventing drugs entering the country. It's here, its always been here and always will be. Legalising it would make it less attractive for funding crime and the black market. Sadly it would also give this shocking government more ability to control it as a revenue stream. things need to change though, its not working in its present format...

Sonny Bradley is 30 now and one of the best cbs I’ve seen in ages. Proper captain and leader for them. That back line are very well marshalled by him and he’s a big reason they’ve done so well this season. If we were ever to poach a player off them it would be him. Probably doesn’t fit the age profile but he’s one of the best in the league imho. Their fans took it pretty well at the end and probably should have converted chances first half. Not quite brave enough first leg and like us, riddled with injuries. They brought on Adebayo in the last minute and as their keeper wasted time picking up the ball he hobbled over to make him pick it up. He could barely walk. I don’t have much time for Jones but he’s done a remarkable job there this season. I think this was their big chance this season. They were generally better than Huddersfield. Huddersfield will I think get beaten by either utd or Forest. Several Luton players were punched and kicked after the game by Huddersfield fans so there should be an investigation into that. Totally unacceptable. I really feel Warburton paid the price of Luton and Huddersfield making the play offs over us and was judged as such, without looking at all the actual improvements he had installed. |
Me too Bosh. Where’s your local ? I’m in Bramingham, so tend to flit between Jolly Milliner and Brim & Crown.

I agree that the present way it’s dealt isn’t working, but I don’t think legalising all drugs would either.A lot of people don’t take them now because of the fear of breaking the law,and if you take that fear away, how many others might be tempted to try stuff that is very addictive and ruins lives. It would be good to take away the criminal element away from the supply of illegal drugs, but they’d still be criminals as they would move to another area of criminality. What I was going to say to the copper was that the same violent people do drink and drugs together,so because the police can smell the alocohol, rather than the Charlie, they’re quicker to blame the violence on the alcohol rather than the coke that has allowed them to drink even more. I’ve never done drugs, apart from a couple of joints,so I don’t know what they do to you after you’ve taken them, but I’ve heard stories from people who have taken them. But governments supplying illicit drugs isn’t a way forward in my eyes. [Post edited 17 May 2022 15:34]

If top scorer Elijah Adebayo had not been injured for the playoffs they may have progressed. Their manager has done a great job there. Many players are now though, out of contract, including Cornick who is arguably their best player. In addition out of contract, it seems their entire defence. I suspect they won't be able to match the wages of any clubs sniffing about and will lose them so, another rebuilding year for that LowTown next season. This was their big chance and it's gone now. |

Not us. We didn't make the playoffs they did and our out of contract players that we wish to keep are way lower than theirs. Of the players not renewed at all: Charlie Austin, Dom Ball, Dillon Barnes, David Marshall, Lee Wallace and Kieren Westwood, only Ball we would keep and that's because he's a great squad player and would be super cheap. From the others, we are still supposedly talking to: Albert Adomah, Yoann Barbet, Moses Odubajo, Charlie Owens and Olamide Shodipo the last two most fans would drop. Of those including Ball, really the ones that would be tough to replace are Barbs and Moses. Whereas Lowtown here: https://www.transfermarkt.co.u Have way more it seems. Looks like their entire defence!

Ouch, only 2 players with contracts past June this year (plus one with an option). They'll be busy for the next few weeks!

Meanwhile the government (or at least the body it has set up) wants to prevent anyone placing a losing £2 each way bet each day! | | | | Login to get fewer ads
