Next two/three games are very important going into the world cup break.....win 2 and we go into the break with a lot of positivity, confidence, high spirits, etc (we will be in a very good place mentally indeed) and it gives the club the time to decide and also keeps the players in good spirits for the games after the world cup and leading onto the transfer window.

Before the last two games away at Birmingham and away at Norwich, my own intuitions were saying lose Birmingham and win or draw at Norwich.
Really that thinking should have been other way around but I expected Birmingham loss.
And expected a performance at Norwich both of which happened.
On present form six points all day long but my thinking is two draws, pretty negative perhaps but am always more confident we will perform against better teams and disappoint against the mediocre.
A supporter since 1974 so sods law logic rules when approaching rangers fixtures.
If I was a neutral I would believe minimum four points for us, possible six.
Hope Rangers being weird does not apply with these two games ahead !!!

I think tomorrow is a really tough game, they have nothing to lose and have got some really good players, they should never be bottom of the league.

I think it’ll be a tough game. They are in a false position. They’ve had lots of draws they arguably deserved to win. And they were managed by Steve Bruce, so quite a handicap. Luck will run and they have a new manager who must be better.
That said, the age of their squad is a fair point and they don’t seem to have gelled.
If Dikes is out, that is a big win for us. He has always been a handful and, if Dunne isn’t back starting, might bully our centre halves a tad.
I would try to have us start at a million miles and hour. Be right onto them, be physical and try to grab a goal with a fast start. Yes, we’ll tire, but their squad age, so might they. Equally, going ahead at home makes a huge difference to the atmosphere. Finally, playing them on the counter, as they’ve have to commit forward, could really play to our strengths.
