| Things turn toxic as hapless QPR lose yet again - Report on 23:06 - Apr 8 by ManinBlack | We are well on course to lose half, if not more, of the 46 league games which is some achievement for a team top in mid October. I see Leicester have lost eight of their last nine league games but at least they have a good excuse being in the Premiership. Meanwhile Luton posted their tenth away clean sheet at Millwall a best for the division, even better than Burnley. Maybe it is just me and I am a harsh judge, but it felt ironic to me having Francis implore us to stay with the team. This from a man who walked out on us and to my mind the trigger point for all the rot that later set in with Wilkins taking over, selling Ferdinand and then making duff signings, getting us relegated from the Premiership. Rubbish signings has been going on ever since to the current crop exceeding all levels of incompetence on the field. Perhaps I am being unfair on Francis but there is always a trigger point to set the wheels in motion and I feel his walk out was a turning point. |
I agree that our initial trigger point was the sale of Ferdinad and the woeful replacements then brought in. It took until The Warnock years to recover our position - so that took from 1997 to 2011 best part of 15 years for our recovery. The next trigger point was the absolutely disasterous appointment of Mark Hughes. His reign utterly destroyed the club and set in motion our current decline. I am convinced that Hughes set about the systemic destruction of every aspect of the club. He infected it with a cancerous growth that has festered and grown ever since he left in 2012. I thought that it would take at least 10 years to recover from what Hughes did and until January 2022 I thought we had a real chance of finally exorcising the Hughes Curse. But then the wheels fell off. The Warburton team went from genuine top 2 contenders to utter dross, lower League 1 level in a matter of just days. Since then neither Warburton, Beale, Critchley or Ainsworth have been able to arrest our decline ( The very brief period of success under Beale was an unreal situation that defies belief) I like many have wondered how can this team top the division in October yet overnight turn into a team that would struggle to stay in League 2. Truth is this rapid decline started under Warburton and other than those 2 months at the beginning of this season, we have been League 1/2 standard for the past 15 months. Ainsworth is absolutely NOT the man to change things for the better. The football under him has been the worse I have seen QPR play for many a year. As Mcintyre has said. The board threw out the baby, the bathwater and the bath when they appointed Ainsworth I genuinely worry about the future of QPR. I believe relegation is now a certainty and we are much more likely to see League 2 football than Championship football in the next 5 years. The board need to have a "Night of the Long Knives" come season end. A massive clear out of the staff and players (and manager sadly) and to bring in a seasoned wise football head to be Director of Football / CEO. Pay top dollar for this appointment but remuneration based on success. And then take it from there.

Sad day Friday | | | |

Agree with most of this but how you can overlook the major part played by Redcrapp in our tale of disaster is a bit of a mystery.

Clive and Trainvain - haven't seen highlights yet, after Friday felt like a day off football on Saturday!

Another apology issued to Brighton by PMGOL. I think that is the third time this season that they've dropped points & Webb has grovelled to them.

| Things turn toxic as hapless QPR lose yet again - Report on 09:07 - Apr 9 by PinnerPaul | I'm as saddened as baffled as everyone else so on to something I know vaguely something about - no heckling please. Referee - Normally as both readers will know I'm supportive or can see the logic in decisions BUT 1) Holding - Yep I get what Clive is saying - this isn't the Under 12s and some holding you have to punish at a lower level, the players have to put up with at this level, but to me, he let too much of that go before finally caving in to the crowd reaction and giving a foul for Willock with a big holding gesture - just looked a bit silly after ignoring 53 identical offences in the previous 70 odd minutes 2) Barge of SJ was just plain wrong - they have radio communication so ref/AR equally to blame there 3) Two "high foot" 'offences - 1 punished, 1 not - always a no no for me - consistency with other refs? - impossible - but consistency within your own game - a must 4) PNE head injury - law clearly states players can't be treated on the fop - let alone 2 physios emptying the contents of their bags to do so! Strange because like Clive I think he is one of the better referees we have but he had an off day on Friday - not as off as the players of course but I believe that's been mentioned a bit elsewhere! The football etc - "sad" sums it up perfectly |
I couldn’t believe that shove in the back on johanson. What was the Lino looking at to miss that?If a defender is shielding the ball out for a goal kick and received a push like that I’d expect a free kick to be given.Just one of many strange decisions not given by the officials.

I actually didn’t think that was. Dived looking for a fk because he was knackered and stuck in the corner. Wish referees played on through more of those because you see so many players just hit the deck and get a a fk for nothing. I was on the other side of the pitch though.

From the front row of ML it looked a definite shove in the back by their player. And the Lino didn’t seem to worry about the holding or shirt pulling from the Preston players in the box at our end in either the 1st or 2nd half. Maybe GA should’ve told their manager that qpr shirts are on sale in the club shop if they were that desperate to get one. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Good close-up on the official stream and he was barged into the back. Having said that, he may have already been diving at that point so maybe the ref decided that the diving was the first offence, but of so, it should have been a free against JoJo for the dive and not a goal kick.

| Things turn toxic as hapless QPR lose yet again - Report on 10:27 - Apr 10 with 605 views | derbyhoop | The manager has to take some of the blame. He set us up in a 5-2-2-1 format, with 2 wing backs who barely got over halfway; a creative midfield of Field and Johansen; and 2 AMs who barely picked up anything the lone striker wasn't beaten to. I saw Johansen limp over to the bench as Browne was being treated. That may be the reason for his thoroughly ineffective performance. I struggle to recall a more disjointed performance from Rangers. Even going back to the days of league 1. | |

Seen it now 1st Spurs handball - not clear enough to over turn 2 Brighton goals - both correctly ruled out 2 Brighton 'pens' - well....hence the apology BUT even worse one of Brentford's pens - its never a pen, ref is 15 yards away looking right at it. VAR looks at at TWENTY times for 3 and half minutes THEN decides to ask ref to look at something he has seen himself already and made the correct decision - result? - he makes the wrong decision and gives the pen. How is 3 1/2minutes and 20 goes at it "clear and obvious" and a "high bar" - its bonkers!
