One here from Norfolk .
0718 from Thetford via Nottingham & Derby hopefully some food in Derby then on to the potteries .
Train arrives back in Thetford 23.34 so home just after midnight , a lot harder getting transport to games from the sticks than from London .

I know it’s been mentioned before but looking at travelling up from Watford or Euston and National Rail is saying the 10:30 Euston-Stoke train isn’t confirmed as operating yet. Any idea when they usually confirm it or do we just rock up on Saturday morning and hope for the best?

One from Suffolk.I think I’m going the same route on the way up there,as via Leicester and Derby.Easier on the way back as it’s only Wolverhampton and Peterborough.Still doesn’t get back until 23.10.

Go on the trainsplit website as you might get a slower but cheaper ticket.
I just looked on there and a return is £35, leaving on the 8.39 and returning on the 18.25.

Any tips on away pubs once we're up there? Early research only showing a Goals and Premier Inn

According to the football ground guide there is a harvester very close to the ground, where you can also park. There are two boats on the canal selling beer and oatcakes.Or the Longton rugby club allows away fans.
They also say that police outside the railway stn hand out leaflets with directions to local pubs that allow away fans in.

yeh that's the one we wanted to get but they were fcking around and the prices were getting absolutely ludicrous so we bit the bullet and we're going at 930 instead.

Do they still do buses after the game back to the train station

On my visits up to Stoke the Harvester is a non starter. Totally rammed. If anyone is driving then head for the Fenton Bowls Club turning off the A50 at Herons Cross. The school opposite provides parking and you can get in the club for some cheap beer.

Went to the Terrace when we were at stoke in 2019, nice away friendly pub by the station with buses to the ground opposite the road

Heading up on Friday staying with family in Stafford overnight. Then there's 3 of us heading to Stoke on he Saturday. The last couple of time I've been to Stoke we normally head to the Harvester by the round about and then to the Holiday Inn in the same car park as its not as busy.

We booked trains today and the 10.30 was the one you could book on and not the 9.30. Would love to know what's actually going on here, seems like a very strange way to run a railway.
