Decent game all round this. Rangers hounding well. Ipswich look very tidy and energetic, but rangers have had some good moments, not least of all Sinclair hitting both posts with a wicked shot. Willock contributing nicely but a little rusty. You feel like our front three can make something happen.

Chair with an interception, good cut inside, shame he hit that too high.

Armstrong's had an outstanding half hour. They're absolutely terrified of him.

Got a rocket shot on him I've never seen before

Still a little rough around the edges but my god we could have a player in our hands here. The confidence he got from that goal last week has made so much difference, having a fantastic game.

So much better for Rangers overall

Do you get the feeling that Ainsworth has told Willock...

If you want a big move at the end of the season you have to have a big season with us.....

If he’s only just told him that he’s not been doing his job very well.

And what a difference it makes. Defenders backpedalling and terrified. Extends the pitch and creates space for others.

Maybe we have given up on finally trying to sell him in this window.....

That's the point I was making.

That first half hour from Armstrong reminded me of Sir Les at his best. So unlucky not to score.

All the rough pieces he will learn how to improve through experience and, more than anything, games at this level. They're all things that can and will improve. Which is encouraging to think about.

Also a big fan of his 'take a few touches to settle and slam in a shot on target' approach. Very Harry Kane, who has built his career on being one of the best in the world at that.

Fitness and managing it across the game is a big challenge for him, but again he will learn that.

Armstrong is causing their CBs problems but without the composure nor control.

On that one run, yes. The rest of the half I think his composure has actually been a step up from what we saw last year

Even Dozzell's looking up for it today. (Be still my beating heart!)

Only criticism this half with Sinclair is that he needs to be in the middle a little bit more often.

Reminds me of kids football when the striker, is usually your best player, wants to be involved in everything....

But he is absolutely terrifying them this half

Agree with all of that. Was really hoping we'd see him take a step up this year and on the evidence of today he's certainly done that

Nice to see a positive high five between Willock and Ainsworth there

From the audio sounds like a very good performance so far. If we can push one of their yellows into a red that could help with our seeming issues of flagging into the end of a match.

Smith was more effective in the wingback role as last week.
3 at the back with both wingbacks offered more attacking threat than today’s formation.

Very decent half I thought.

Would be good to get Smyth running at them from a higher position but he seems to be covering deeper a lot of the time.

Armstrong threatening and Willock actually getting into it, hopefully he's fit enough to build on that in the second half. All quite positive.

Such a shame Dykes isn’t fit because him and Armstrong would terrorise these two Ipswich centre backs

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

We don't look like relegation candidates today.

I bet the Ipswich defenders are praying that Armstrong goes off early today as expected.

The Willock haters have gone quiet.

How Strange ??

Very encouraging half.

We definitely edging it so far and unlucky to not be in front.

And the defence looks solid too.

Ipswich may have had more shots but they mostly weak efforts from long range.

I think if Armstrong starts when fit, Dykes would be coming on after 60 minutes as he does tire but maybe today he won't tire.

Hope we finally get a couple of goals in the loft end this half and Armstrong gets one. The loft would erupt.

But yes just as impressive is our solid defence so far.

Begovic also very solid.

Encouraging half.
