Does anyone know if this is true?
I was hoping he’d have a superb tournament and sell for £1M?!

Shop window isn't the point. If he did well in the Euros he would come back all ready to have a great season for us too. Other clubs would want him for reasons that would make us want to keep him too. Even if he didn't stand out that much, just to come back in good shape and good habits would set him up to do well for us. Now he's going to have no pre-season and come into our side very gradually, and by the looks of things having to impress a lot of fans who have already decided he isn't any good. Meanwhile we are going to have to get two new strikers, not just one for the start of the season.

Don't threaten me with a good time, Sax.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

Interview with Clarke. Mentions Dykes injury (not what it is or how serious).

I would interpret that as it being a serious one. Hopefully not.

Not necessarily: he was suggesting the Scotland players were holding back against Gibraltar as they didn’t want to get injured and miss the chance of playing in a major tournament as happened with Lyndon.
Apart from it being reported as an ankle injury there has been no news on how serious it is yet.

It's interesting Clarke and Scotland put so much more value on Dykes than we do. The Dykes of Scotland compared to the Dykes of QPR is a real puzzle.

Alternatively, the suggestion that he's staying with the squad would suggest it doesn't need an operation, so would not be long term?

There is not that much difference really, he's good in some games and poor in others for Scotland same as he is with us

Clarke has said Dykes is irreplaceable. I've never heard any of us describe him in that way.

Maybe the effect Clarke was talking about on the squad was they all went on the piss when they heard he was injured as it gives them a much better chance of winning

Fortunately, whether by choice or good fortune,
Cifuentes also realised Dykes was irreplaceable in the run in.

Sounds like it isn't as bad as first feared - good news.

Good news: sounds like he will be fit for pre-season.

Great news.
Although I am not sure I would want the below described support quoted in the piece.

"I want to be out there and not dwelling on the injury. Maybe I can give a bit around the backroom." (Matron).

'No-one was near me and it was off a cross and I sort of lunged and my body kept going forward and my leg just stopped.'

Well, that sounds familiar enough.

Am sorry for him/us for missing the Euros though.

Poll: How many points will we take from our next 3 games (S'land H, M'bro H, Leeds A)?

Shame for Lyndon but thankfully he will be okay for Pre - Season.

I know he gets a fair amount of stick but I quite like him and what he brings to the team.

A bit different to the support given by Maddison & Grealish if that "on the lash" pic is to be believed.
Dykes is every bit the team player and the kind of stalwart that fans are always banging on about being the right sort yet gets dogs abuse on here from quite a number of posters on here. If only we had fans that could survive without a scapegoat.

The grass is always greener.

Dykes' injury seems to be ankle.ligaments. 6-12 weeks recovery.
I know as the OH sprained her ankle coming away from the Olympic flame relay.
