So enjoyable as a pundit. He just loves the game so much.

Warnock made an interesting point at the end that he wouldn't have made any subs as Sunderland boss when 1-0 up. Feels changing the personnel broke Sunderland's grip on frustrating Leeds. Don't know if he is right about that as Sunderland got 6 players booked and were tiring from constant defending but then Neil knows the management game better than most.

Yeah like laying into Faulin for not doing a professional foul on a breakaway at the end of a game, conceding a goal.

Lost him the dressing room allegedly.

Man is a Charlatan. More like a tribute act. BS off, charm on.

How is he a 'charlatan' exactly? He's been there, done it, again and again, with multiple promotions, play off finals, and cup semi-finals, with a number of clubs. It's just a ludicrous statement.

Of course, Neil has his flim-flammery, like just about every manager, but he's the real deal.

Would strongly disagree re charlatan comment. There are few in this game who can read it like Warnock.

The man really has little affiliation for us unceremoniously obvious when presented to the crowd before the Cardiff game. We’re Londoners/Cockneys etc. Not his gib.

Personally I don’t care for him even when he was our manager. I thought he was fake, insincere and said what you wanted to hear while smiling behind those dentures lurked an unpleasant individual.

Harry fooled a lot of people as well and still doing it.

The bloke gave us one of our best seasons in living memory, should never have been sacked when he was.

We’ve had two promotions in the last twenty years and you hate both the managers.

Hopefully you’ve enjoyed the other eighteen years of abject failure.

He was one of those about who people would say "you'd hate him against you but you'd love him if he was at your club". Not for me: I didn't like him at our club either. I don't admire him as a person.

But he's a damn good manager, and he did a damn good job while he was here.

Edit: spell check!

Not only was he a brilliant manager for us, achieving an extremely rare Championship title for us, bringing in average players and making them play like world beaters, getting a tune out of Adel like no other manager could, equalling (I think?) our longest unbeaten run of league games etc... He done this while facing the pressures of a potential points deduction from the FA hanging over us.

Warnock was fukking amazing for QPR!!!

Similar to me Brian.

Early in his tenure, my son asked me why I wasn't joining in with Neil Warnock's blue & white army. I said I wasn't a fan of the bloke - and said I'd sing it if we got promotion...so at Vicarage Road, a year and a bit later, I kept my promise.

Still waiting for my email (glossary entry #827 I believe).

I met Warnock at a charity game at HQ post season. He was so pleased to be part of the day and was due to do-commentate on the National League play off final. Didn’t want to leave as he really was enjoying himself with the supporters who turned up to play. Was so interested in our experiences and stories of supporting the team. A real football lover and a really charming person. At that game I asked him about the prospect of getting Taarabt back for the next season, he looked at me and just said. He’ll be back. The rest is history.

He was screwed by Ecclestone post promotion not allowing players that he wanted such as Ashley Williams, Routledge and the Swansea forward who allegedly bought a house in Harlington. He had a list of players that in my view, complemented by the championship winning team that would have seen us comfortable in the Prem in the first season. Instead it was a last minute trolley dash that saw us buy some players either at inflated prices on inflated wages.

Never liked the bloke....a complete utter horrible self centred man. However, I supported him as our Manager when we got promoted and thank you to him for the part he played in that season.

He is history now, thankfully.

The hate for Warnock is blowing my mind.

I thought he was unanimously respected for his time at QPR, and has since only said how much he loves the club, despite being treated harshly imo.

Agree

I can't understand the dislike for Warnock from Rangers fans. Hard to understand what would make some people happy then as Warnock presided over our best season since maybe the 90s team or even to way back to the mid 70s to early 80s.

When he came here, I wasn't happy. Seemed to fight referees over a paper bag. But he won me over as he is a successful man with an amount of charm and wit.

The whinging northerner is part of his approach to the job.

Maybe some of the ones moaning, had something in common with guys behind me who constantly moaned that the games were not value for money in the taraabt season - comments made when we were ten points clear in first place - very strange in my eyes.

People can have differing opinions but the dislike of Warnock by QPR fans is a bit nuts for me.

It's very different to dislike Neil Warnock as to appreciating what a superb job he did as manager of Queens Park Rangers. His biggest achievement being in saving us from relegation in the 2009/10 season.

A lot of supporters of many clubs will never forgive him for his actions in the abandonment of the Sheffield United - West Bromich Albion match in 2002. After three players had been sent off for brutality (including Georges Santos) he instructed two others to feign injury so that they had to leave the pitch. This ended with the EFL awarding the match to WBA rather than replaying the game. An action that was unheard of at the time.

Before joining Rangers I regarded him as the most dislikeable manager in football, but I was pleased when we appointed him as he was the only perrson who stood a chance of keeping us up. He was excellent for us, but being very good at his job does not guarentee being liked!
