That one is on Marti 17:01 - Mar 29 with 11491 viewsnumptydumpty

The starting line up was never ever going to work.

Having a centre forward, even one as limited as Lloyd would make a difference. Starting Dembele through the middle and with keeping Anderson helping Paal. Doomed to fail. I think today also showed Morrison must start also. And Yang too, given current availabilities.

Another infuriating game when the plan is in place when we are out of the game.

Yes we have bad injuries, but we still could be competitive, it's only Stoke, but we were set up to lose the game.

This is on the manager today, am sad to say.

to be fair Yang was getting slaughtered last time he played so not sure him starting would have made much differrence, agree Llotyd should have started though

Doesn't matter who you pick though if you don't run, track runners, defend properly etc you lose the game and we didn't do any of those things

glad we exericed that option and tied Demble down, 3 million out of this summers budget gone already on a player who has been woeful since the first 4 games of the season

I was dismayed when I saw the team sheet and Frey wasn't even in the squad.

We have a squad with 3 'strikers' out and Lloyd obviously not fit enough to play 90 minutes. It's a pretty bad place to be when you have 2 weeks to prepare and your one senior striker is again out completely.

I am not saying we are in trouble but we are in trouble if we can't get these players back and up and at it.

Never knowingly right.

Well we've just had two weeks to practice those very things.

Think he's fast burning off his credit. Yes, we have injuries but there have been some shocking, clueless performances this season. Anyway, looks like he'll be off at the end of the season and Nourry can do a 360-degree review on himself.

shouldn't need to practice those things, is the very basics that any player should be able to do. The effort from Anderson to defend was laughable

All of which raises the question - what the f*ck were they doing in training for two weeks? That'd be the first one out of my mouth in any post-match interview (which is probably why I post splenetic comment on a fans' forum rather than have a role on the club payroll - speaking truth to power tending to make a rod for one's own back in a world of spin and lies).

Saito's stupidity v Leeds, after a good performance by him and the team, certainly took something away going forwards today, and Frey, though I'm less and less of a fan with every passing week, nullified our focal point (wghich is often ineffective even when he's fit enough to appear), but the truth is it could have been 5-1 and we'd still have deserved it on every level - tactics, organisation, quality, and effort.

Much more of that before the end of the season, and, quite frankly, if Marti's on his way anyway, I'll summon his taxi myself!

Of course we shouldn't need to practice those things, but someone explain to me why we were so useless today?

Agreed.

Smyth or Dembele as a striker in Frey's absence is a terrible decision and we all can see that Andersen looks shot and cannot play out wide and be expected to provide cover and assistance to the full backs.

He should be able to change his formation to one that suits the players at his disposal. In this case play a 3-5-2 and start with Lloyd and either Smyth or Dembele alongside him.

Morrison is fit and should also have started .

We are dropping nearer and nearer to the drop zone with each passing game just as we did when Ainsworth started.

Marti Cifuentes needs to address this slump ASAP. March is done and dusted now with 1 draw and 5 losses from 6 fixtures. Let's all hope April brings us those 2 elusive wins.

Ive obviously missed something with the Marti comments

I thought he was next to sliced bread, now 6 games later he's apparently off at the end of the season

who
where
how
why

he's not THAT bad is he?

OK, Its Stoke who are crap and have been for the last 15 years, and I agree, if we've had 2 weeks training, to come out with a puff-ball performance as reputedly reported, but even so.

No worries, it's that kind of day.

I hear the ghost of Kevin Gallen over the past 5 years pleading for us not to buy yet another right back or midfielder and concentrate on strikers for once. But we never seem to realise until situations like this where Marti only has a half fit Lloyd to include. Probably should have started him I guess but he's not an out and out striker.

Never knowingly right.

It all got somewhat fraught it seems.

Dunne was really not happy. Not sure if it was something said by colleague or fan but I don’t think I’ve seen him look like that before.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Not really but I’m equally unsure why others get picked at all.

I was more concerned that we had no striker but we clearly didn’t have much of a midfield or defence for most of the game and Nardi didn’t help matters either.

Seven points off relegation, but derby have a game in hand. So potentially five. We've got injury problems and may have clocked off. Not looking great

Because he has been struggling with injuries and the medical team tell him how many minutes each player is allowed. Same reason Lloyd was only on the bench.

Anyone who thinks he chose to go to Stoke of all places with Dembele leading the line should get in touch re: a lovely bridge I’ve got in stock.

Not heard anything about Marti leaving at the end of the season

Does someone known something most of us don't or is there a prediction he will be let go.

It's first time I personally have really thought his choices today were poor...

But he is decent and i think most want Marti here, surely ??

Well the gameplan would have been built around Frey up front with Dembele and Smyth wide and Anderson in the hole which was ripped up yesterday when Frey got injured.

We don't know how fit Lloyd is so easy option would have been like for liek change although he's a very different type of striker to Frey.

The big problem was the same as Boro away in just a lack of desire from players, no pride in being better than his opposite number and they won pretty much every duel across the pitch not through abilty just wanting it a bit more

Thats a major problem for us at the moment, the level of intensity and desire shown against Leeds is not a regular thing

He wanted out last summer already and after this season there isn’t really anywhere to take this team - assuming the target is upper mid table tedium next season, you’ve got to improve on this squad whilst replacing Frey, Celar, Dunne, Paal, Cook & Colback at a minimum and even with the new tv deal there just isn’t the cash to do that, so you’re relying on Belk and his team to replace all those players on freebies, loans and 1/2 spends.

Do you trust the management who signed Madsen without having even see him live to pull that off?

That one is on Marti on 18:33 - Mar 29 with 3253 viewsPaddyhoops

No fit striker apart from Run around Alfie is not helping the situation.
Got to be doing better on that front next season .
Not good enough today . Everybody has to take responsibility for the poor performance. Tgat includes the management team .
Still think our home form will keep us up though.

How do you know he wanted out last season? You're just making it up, aren't you?

If that were the case, why the hell did he sign a new contract? Presuambly no one was holding a gunb to his head a la Paladini? Laughable!

And if there's really no where else to take this team, what does that say about the manager, as well as the recruitment? In fact, if that's so, why have a manager at all?

I think seven points minus three is four, isn't it? Perhaps the only thing worse than our situation is your maths? ;-)
