Oh yeah. I understand why you would walk the best hitter the oppo has in a tight regular season game. But, you're also walking the guy on base ahead of him, so almost any ground ball out of the infield scores a run. You're also telling to the batter at the plate that he's a weak link, which is likely to piss him of just a little bit. Not a good idea in the sixth game of a World Series. | | | |

Talk about fine margins. The ball that got lodged at the foot of the stands, the Dodger that lifted his foot momentarily off the plate and then just got it back down to retire the Blue Jay runner sliding into home, Kirk's broken bat on the last play. Really feel for them, distraught kids and adults crying afterwards. I think the Dodgers were marginally the better team last night, if the Jays had Yamomoto pitching at the end I think they'd have won that. Oh well, there's always next year. Result aside. It was, by some distance, the best World Series I've witnessed.
Over the past decade or so my interest in baseball had flagged. Too many other sports, too many other things still to do in a life that has fewer years ahead of it than in the rear view mirror. I gotta say the past few weeks have changed that.

Absolutely riveting series and final game. Two great teams with contrasting strengths giving it their all. Really could have gone either way at several different junctures.

If Kiner-Falefa had been a bit more brave standing further off 3rd base, he'd have made that winning run at the bottom of the 9th no problem 
Brilliant series and the Jays more than played their part, a lot of people beforehand would have had the Dodgers as 4-0 winners. And fair play to Yamamoto, well deserved MVP. | |
