The Football League could give up their 10 percent as well.

Smells like a trout farm in here

What about the 115 charges? Gone very quiet of late.

Bit of Man City history;

They make me sick, nothing absolutely nothing will ever get done about It, nobody wants to disturb all the piggies gorging on the money trough.

**"The period under investigation when City are alleged to have breached the rules dates back to between 2009-2018, so even the most recent alleged offences were seven years ago.

"It was back in February 2023 when the Premier League publicly outlined the charges. They were brought just four months before City won the Champions League and completed the treble.

"The actual hearing, where lawyers from both sides presented their cases in front of an Independent Commission, lasted 10 weeks, starting in September 2024.

"So this most complex of cases has a long and inglorious past. But the Premier League, like City - and every football fan in this country - can do nothing but sit and wait for the Commission to reach and publish its decision.**

Go and fck yourself, keep your hands of my stash.

I'm not defending them but it's more down to the FA and what they've done to the competition by scrapping replays to appease the big clubs. It's hardly then surprising, when having cultivated such a culture, that the likes of the UAE do this.

I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I have some sympathy with Man City on this. It feels a bit cheeky. if they'd have been drawn against QPR and they'd asked us to give them all the gate receipts we'd tell them to swivel. And if they were against Bath, they wouldn't have asked.

Could Man City proactively have offered this? Yes absolutely and that would seem like a nice opportunity to give back. But it feels a bit like your buddy who struck it rich, you go out for dinner to a restaurant with them and ask them to pay. If they've picked an expensive restaurant fine. If they want to offer, terrific. But to ask them just feels a bit....icky. and if Man City say yes then they are setting a precedent for every other time in the future.

Unless I've totally misunderstood the situation in which case City can do one. And don't get me started on the scrapping replays bit, I personally think it should be entirely optional for both teams, if Man City don't want a replay they're welcome to waive the game and send the other team through to the next round.

Agree with everything said about Man City. Totally. Scum.

But... If we want fan ownership models in this country then they've got to be better run than getting the begging bowl out.

This tie has already saved Exeter from going bust, which looked likely before Christmas, because they've overstretched on a League One squad they can't afford with their income.

This is a club that has not been short of good cup ties (Liverpool, Man Utd and now Man City) nor player sales (Ollie Watkins £7m plus sell ons later, Millenic Alli £1.5m, Sam Nombe £1m, Archie Collins £1m, Joel Randall £1m, Storey and Stockley to PNE for a joint £1.5m, Ethan Ampadu £2m) .

The pursuit of success nowadays has led to who knows how many clubs over spending money they haven't got and mis managing of their finances.

This Isn't nothing new It just seems like a persistent obsession now to get promoted all the way up to the Prem league and It's vast amounts of cash.

Honestly I seem to be forever reading how certain football authorities are gonna clamp down on over spending but nothing ever seems to be done about It.

Under Redknapp we were signing half dead players on what was reported to be ridiculously high salaries and slowly sinking down the bloody toilet pan, I used to wonder then whose paying for all this?

I'm a great fan of the underdog regarding football so I hope Exeter beat City regardless of Exeter's mis management (of which I knew nothing about).

"who knows how many clubs over spending money they haven't got". If it is less than 95% of them, I'd be shocked. Including QPR who were losing £2m per month very recently.

To be fair, Exeter will get 45 % of gate receipts around £400k and have 8000 fans there, so the luck of that particular draw in the cup has got them a massive amount of money for a club of their size.

And they could have been drawn away at a small non league outfit and got half a shilling in gate receipts so its a massive and unexpected pay day as it is, and for whatever reason, this club is in debt, that is down their own mismanagement from within.

There are times when the big clubs should clearly be pulled up for irregular behaviour, and they are not, but for instance handing over an extra £100k to a club that may already get around £400k, to help them with their own financial irregularities - that's like me spending all my money down at the bookies and then asking my employer and saying I have no money till the end of the month, can you put an extra £500 into my bank account so I can afford to eat this month.

Would not be calling out Man City over this myself.

Think its a bit of a brass necked cheek from Exeter myself.......
