What’s even more damning is that we are not even going to play the majority of those teams in a league game anytime soon

Am I right in saying then that only 3 of those are in the last decade since being relegated under Redknapp? How many have we played in that time? 20ish?

It was a great old school ground went there a few times, my father in law was on the management committee. They sold the ground for a fortune, one of the committee members basically defrauded/stole most of the money, i think he may have gone to prison. Anyway, another legendary non-league club gone. My father in law took great pride in a cup run they had, they draw 1-1 at Man Utd in 4th round.

Amazing, I never knew Walthamstow Avenue went to Old Trafford in the FA Cup and got a draw against a Matt Busby Man U side. Apparently in doing so they were the first non-league side to reach the 4th round for nearly a quarter of a century. I do know that a few seasons later they tonked us 4-0 in an FA Cup 1st Round Replay at Highbury. Maybe not so surprising that one.

They played in dark blue and light blue hoops, were nicknamed the A’s, and Acton’s finest, Robin Friday, began his career with them in the early 70s. So sad that a club with such a rich history and a great ground just stopped existing.

Never, ever In my short sweet life have I witnessed us beating Orient, there old ground or our old ground.

Neither have I and I have been watching for more than 50 seasons. The only win I recall was a 4-0 win, but as it was a midweek evening kick off and a school night, I wasn't allowed to go.

You are right it is shameful but Fulham were transformed by Al Fayed's money while we were losing money and run on a pittance. Up to the 90's money was not such an influencer but the last 30 years has seen it transform some clubs beyond all recognition while clubs like us were passing buckets around. Same with Chelsea and the wealth of Abramovich turning round their fortunes. The money all the London clubs are making now in the Premiership is casting us further adrift of them. If Spurs or West Ham come down, the reality is we are highly unlikely to beat them with the enormous financial gap between us unless they have a serious attitude problem like Leicester this season.
