It pains me that I'll probably never experience what those Palace fans did yesterday.
They have ownership that listens to fans and brings them on the journey. We have a leadership team that treats fans with contempt.
They have a mobilised, organised fan base (albeit there are growing factions), that pressure the club and have built a proper atmosphere. We have generational divides and internet proxy battles. |  | | |

Well when they had their "crisis" this season with Guehi sold and Glasner slagging off the board and owners in public, one of the many differences to us was that one of the owners (Parish) was there, on site, all the time, to manage it. No fresh-out-of-public-school guy who doesn't own a penny of the place being "led" by owners thousands of miles away.
Makes a difference I reckon, perhaps Marti a sort of similar situation. [Post edited 28 May 11:14]

Absolutely p!sses me off seeing things like this. We should be having days like this. It was there for the taking. I think back to an over the hill Edgar Davids with a lazy pass in midfield. Taarabt, 0-1, thank you very much. That was the year Parish came in and Palace weren't too far away from being relegated to L1. We had two bites of the cherry and fcked it up both times.
Think about how the likes of Palace, Fulham, Brentford, Brighton & Bournemouth are run. Clubs that really, aren't any bigger than us. We are so depressingly far away from that level we need to be.
Still, maybe we can aim for 14th in the Championship next season and call it progress. |  | | |

Well said .we did work underneath the Holmesdale end which is 30 odd years old but the rest is literally falling to pieces . They do have the advantage of a massive car park which will allow them ample room to build their new stand, something we can’t do .

Very well said, they have really broken through in recent years and building a great legacy. Good mate of mine is a Palace season ticket holder and another I play football with both great guys and so pleased for them. Went along to their beer festival last year, lovely vibe. Our fortunes as football clubs were linked especially during the early Venables years, where we fell away in the mid 90s and never really recovered, Palace re-built got up 13 years ago and barring a couple of blips have held on and developed into a solid Prem team now with 2 major trophies in the bag. |  | | |

Ironically they were only a few points off the relegation battle if you look at the final table. Never won a trophy before last years F A Cup and now they have three in a year. Despite the worst FA CUP shock in history, losing their best central defender in January and having their manager tell you he is leaving they had a very successful season ultimately.
I am pleased for all my family and mates who went out there and are in a state of shock, but it is a bit galling when you think we helped keep them in business by paying a fee for NW. |  |
