I for one am happy to have the Goalkeeper situation sorted early with 2 (on paper) competent keepers.
I can't help but wonder though how the club are going to manage 2 keepers who were absolute regulars for their clubs last season and don't expect to be a number 2 any time soon.
Are they expecting Charles to get injured so Ward gets a look in?

RE: teeth gnashing over having two first team-worthy keepers...
QPR have often managed seasons with two keepers who wish to be number 1, sometimes successfully, sometimes less so, but usually harmoniously:
Between 1990 and 1994, Jan Stejskal and Tony Roberts shared the number one, first season JS made 26 league appearances, TR 12; next season ration was 41/1; 92/93 it was 15/23; 93/94 back to JS on 26 and TR on 16...
So the number 1 job share worked very well during one of QPR's most successful eras in the top flight.
The next season, 94/95, Roberts made 31 league appearances, Sieb Dijkstra made 11. This might be the split we see this year. We came 8th in 94/95, which would do us now.
There's also been Green/ Smithies in 14/15 (when we had four senior keepers on deck); we had the Lumley/Kelly season where both played to be dropped fairly routinely; Lumley/Dieng season...
Also worth noting that most years we also have two or three too old for Dev squad/not good enough for first team keepers. Developing keepers is incredibly hard purely because there's a finite number of jobs available. So cut the club slack over Salamon or Warren (or Walsh!). If they're good enough, they will find a way.
