Santos.....gone, never good enough Dixon-Bonner.....gone, never good enough despite many posters thinking he was back in the day Bennie......On loan for season to Dundee. Good move for him, not sure he will ever be good enough and probably return to Aussie. Seems to be a good lad with a good attitude though.
There are always going to be good and bad signings that's the nature of the sport we are in but I think we have improved by moving players on who are not going to make it.
The one player that mystified me the most was the young man called Hamalainen ? It would be very interesting to find out who was responsible for his contract extensions, what on earth did they see that the majority of Rangers fans couldn't.

If I recall correctly Santos was Nourry’s first signing and Celar came along shortly after.

Moving these duds out is a good thing but there’s no way it could objectively be called a success for the club, or Nourry.
Nourry was appointed in January 2024. The first signing under him was Micheal Frey, followed by Isaac Hayden and Joe Hodge, both on loan, and Lucas Andersen on a free.

I said that moving Santos and Celar on was a good thing. Probably for them as well as us.
And Nourry has made some good signings.
But when his clear failures are being talked up as success then something looks off.

It all goes back into the pot. That is surely undeniable.
For me Nourry’s transfer record is mixed but the overall strategy is a massive improvement.

Before long, you could be adding Isak Alemayehu to your Key Triumphs list.
Even Brentford and Brighton sign duds. These two were punts who, in the grand scheme of things weren’t expensive. Not really comparable to the dross we’ve had before and the huge money wasted on the likes of Bonne and the like.
There’s plenty to criticise the club for, seems an odd thing to have a dig at.
Even Brentford? Brentford have signed more duds, than you'll find at the international convention for Men named Dudley!

Yeah. I’m sure I’m not imagining having them hanging around for years…players like , Greggs-Cox and Shodipo seemed to hang around for years with no real improvement.
To me that’s progress if we’re moving them on and having someone else paying their wages.
It certainly doesn’t make the original signing a success obviously but it does mean that the process appears to be tightening up. That’s not a conclusive judgment of our entire transfer system atm, just that bit of it. And frankly I’m not guessing any club goes round saying in public, well that was a sh*t sighing. For no other reason than it would be a pretty disrespectful thing to do for the player.

As for getting rid of Santos and Dixon-Bonner. they were a gamble that didn't pay off, but hopefully QPR got some fee for the former and didn't have to pay off the latter when cancelling his contract by mutual consent.
I think Bennie was improving at QPR and will return a better player or he impresses at Dundee Utd (decent start as a sub last night) so that they buy him or other clubs bid for him. Either way it is a good loan and I would like to see Pearman go out on a similar loan deal.

Ie people randomly on X saying well done on the club for getting rid of a dud and it being done via a few random X accounts or ones supposedly instructed by the club, although as a club, they could not possibly comment. But who cares really about some random posters on X, who is just out to cause trouble, just because they can. Its not right and should be clamped down on, but it really rarely ever is. Thats wrong - of course. Its if it becomes personal thats when a line is crossed, but randoms bigging up getting rid of duds, i think we can all see when we have failed or succeeded.
These accounts could well be also fans of clubs considered to be our rivals trying to put the boot in. There are some dodgy posters on X, as there has been some nastiness about this site, amongst other things, but personally i doubt people go on there selectively to praise getting rid of the deadwood as a success.
I guess, a term used for this kind of deliberate whitewashing by the supposed powers that be, would which in the online dating world today is known as Cat Fishing
In reality though, it is a good thing we have been able to move players on with the minimum of fuss and in good time saving us money with them being here and contributing nothing and we have got some money back on fees.
I do also believe this particular regime are learning their lessons early with recruitment and costs and that is actually a good thing and think its also good for an organisation that they listen to the overall majority and adapt promptly to mistakes in general, also. This is how it seems from the outside looking in with no real inside info on the powers that be.
Definitely more decent pickups with potential, either through transfers in and / or promotions up from the youth system.
And getting rid of duds quicker than a Hamaleinen or a Kakay or a Goss, is important to do also.

There are a few DS players who could get decent loans this season, such as Putman, Sutton, Akindileni, Sanyaolu and Smith. Maybe Adamson too as I can't imagine Stephan will want to play him.

He lacked an obvious hustle and desire to get back and defend at times & his record for being substituted between 45 and 75 minutes is a little worrying.
Furthermore, his ability to be effective aerially was a concern. There were several occasions where he was beaten in the air and looked like he barely broke sweat in the process. CF Estrela deployed an incredibly ineffective zonal marking system which made Hevertton look positionally lost & doesn’t help us get a really clear picture of how good he is aerially in his own box."

They got rid of them.
A few random X posters said good bye and are pleased they said good bye. A conspiracy theory around this is a bit of a stretch for me.
As to other X poster issues thats about a whole different ball game and is unpleasant
In the same period as these two duds, we have unearthed four or five potential gems and a number of other prospects developing from within or from our other transfers in.
If we are going to judge a regime on two duds that a few people on social media are saying thank God they are gone - then crikey....

As far as I can see NOBODY on this site is spinning those signings as successes.
Nor is the club.
It seems more like some of the anti-Nourry brigade would LIKE that to be the case so they could have another moan.
As several posters have already pointed out, a player can be a total dud signing but getting rid of them on the right terms can still be a qualified success.
Dixon-Bonner, there was potential, having spent time at both Arsenal & Liverpool, it was worth the few years to see if he could step up, IMO. He wasn’t terrible, good luck to him.
Poku, someone above suggests he’s a success !? Not yet IMO, hardly played and needs to stay fit and be a regular starter.
