I wonder if we should enjoy him while we can. IF, he stays fit and shows the form he has so far up until January I’d be amazed if Premier League clubs don’t come in for him. Even though he’s been here only a matter of weeks he could potentially be the first to leave for a very healthy profit.
We have cover, once Kemper returns, at both left and right back so selling him wouldn’t need a search for a replacement.

Wouldn’t be a surprise if there is a clause enabling him to move on quickly if fit and offers come in. Would be a shame of course but doesn’t really make sense for us to have picked him up on a free. [Post edited 5 Sep 9:19]

He looks the absolute nuts. Was the best player on the pitch at Blackburn and probably the other night too. Was most happy for him though when he got a proper whack off Tanner which arguably deserved a red card and just got up and dusted himself off. If he turned down better offers, having made plenty of money, maybe we’ve got a chance of hanging onto him for a bit. Probably just happy to be playing at a good level and being local to family because if he’s close to his best he’s better than half the PL full-backs. |

If we're just speculating on contract lengths, wouldn't the deal be similar to the Dembele deal? Similar careers , young player with talent, gets injured, needs to get career back on track. In fact, we've had loads of players with an injury record, but are on decent length contracts. Kyle Walker was just on loan, hence why he went in January when he tore the championship a new one. |  |

Even if that was the case it’d be a choker but couldn’t blame the club and would still have been a coup.
Really looking forward to seeing him fully fit and composed in that right back hearth where he does his best work.

A 2/3 year deal with release clause of circa 4 mill - and some level of protection for the club if he never recovered from the ACL seems most likely.
Would have though his advisors would have been looking for that balance of some contractual security for the next few years as well as control over getting him back into the prem should the opportunity arise. |  |
