I presume that's not the Hayes who jogged around for 15 mins of the 1-4 defeat. The vast majority of the players can be castigated for large parts of their performances this season (that's why we have the crisis) but I thought ZSD has been as effective in attack as anyone else? | |

I would agree, but I suspect in the wide players rankings that he is behind Hayes, Smith, Middleton and Hannant in the depth chart. Probably Taylor as well. I would like to see Taylor play the 10 role. Not saying I agree with it, but he needs more end product and to work harder. | | | |

It’s been the same every game. It’s like we dont all go together in the press or attack and then a likely turnover in possession which i have seen more of in 5 games than all of last season and they are away in acres. Theres a disconnect in the ‘lines’. |  | | |

This has been reflected in the success of the side, one which never stopped going during moments of adversity under his captaincy.
To dismiss his leadership qualities, which appear to be respected by his peers and successive managers, would be wide of the mark based on the evidence available.

Watching it a bit closer it looks like Gilmour is alone a lot while Adeeko looks to be following one player wo is pushing into our back line while their defenders knock it about. Of all people, it looks like Hannant is the one spotting that (or being told) and is dropping back and tucking into the middle slightly, then a gap is left. He and Brown have worked their socks off. The gamble is obviously if we can press them into a mistake we'll get good chances.

And my concern is when Brown is the 10 the distances lengthen across the pitch as he’s more of a second striker. Midfield move to be in touch with the forwards and increase the distance from the defence.

I would like Taylor in the 10 as he can play in the spaces and drop back to form a three in midfield when needed. The zones are too big for players without the legs to cover them. | | | |

We’ve done ok, I think we’re a bit lightweight in places and getting bullied but I can see a fast counter attacking style here that must be the tactical plan.
All season a theme has been that everything looks rushed and frantic. Minimal control and I suspect it’s because they are being asked to move the ball forward very fast. Just a guess though.
Flint looks like a good signing, the experienced head we need?

If we have so many wide players on the bench it makes sense to use them, especially as on paper we have a bit of quality in that position. I would argue that it is the position we are strongest in. | | | |
